A distinct possibility. KL, if she's not into football - and there is no reason to think she is - must have an end-game in sight that:
1) Honours her father's project
2) is a swift exit strategy
3) Maximises her return.
Now would seem the right juncture to achieve all those objectives.
But presently we just don't know what Southampton will look like player-wise next season. Why are we selling if we aim to do like for like replacements? Ain't gonna happen. No way will we be anywhere near as strong on Sept 1st as we were on May 1st at this rate.
I wish I could believe it was this, in the same way I wish I could believe in Jesus and eternal life in Heaven. Unfortunately I can't and think the present regimes' motives are far more cynical.
Ok they can sell the guys, but they could have at least let us have the pride of watching the lads in the World Cup as Saints. What difference would a month make? Could even have pushed the prices up if say Adam sets Brasil alight. No other big names will move till after the WC. Kruger and cronies have no soul.
Lambert, Shaw, Lallana, Lovren all already virtually out the door. Saints to have no-one at the World Cup.
Whoever is pulling the strings - and ultimately it has to be KL - is royally ****ing up the club. Project over, start all again.
Yes, and the only thing that is surprising is the number here still in denial. The mood music at Saints changed dramatically the day Cortese left, and we sent a green light to other clubs that the summer would be an auction of the family silver.
It is becoming clear that the Board gave the green light to other clubs about 2-3 months back that there would be a clear out this summer, and are holding a mass auction.
