  1. The chap seems rooted to his line, and when he rarely makes an excursion off it he gets the angles all wrong.
  2. I never like it when we play clubs that are apparently in disarray - we traditionally blow it and they always seem to use us as a springboard to unity and a win!
  3. I reckon we are looking like 11th-14th material presently. Get the walking wounded back and possibly a signing or 2 in the windopw and we could be back on for 7-9th.
  4. Only Adam emerged unscathed from the England odyssey, as JRod has faltered too.
  5. ...
  6. Any evidence for this purported dressing room unrest?
  7. While the 3 players in question are not perhaps good enough to continue 'wearing the shirt', I think that the term 'not fit to wear the shirt' implies an attitudinal, even moral failure on their parts. That would be both unfair and untrue, they have tried their bests but their respective bests have not been good enough.
  8. I think his legs might be going. I am afraid he won't make Brazil. Shame, but it happens to everyone sometime in the early to mid 30s usually, with only a few outliers who can carry on and be effective (Giggs).
  9. Gazza was worse than Fox. Rooted to his line, and when he occasionally strayed off it he got the angles wrong. Shocking. As someone said on here earlier, Cropper can't be worse.
  10. We won't go down this year, but I can see us finishing in the 11th-14th bracket, which would be a little disappointing given the investment and the hopes engendered by our competitive start to the season.
  11. Quite right - this is the nub of the issue.
  12. Not at the game, but support sounded dreadful on Sky. You never know though with the TV as the mics and how they are mixed can make all the difference.
  13. yyyyyeeeeeeeessss Adam LLalana
  14. Hooiveld going for the hairy survivalist look.
  15. He exudes panic.
  16. Nice from Cork
  17. Did carpentry apprenticeship prior to football.
  18. All people are asking for is standing areas behind the goal ends again. Of course the rest can keep their seats. Anfield would get the Kop proper back, Arsenal the North Bank and so forth.
  19. Steam iron! That would be certain divorce...now there's a thought..
  20. I wish I could get away with a £10 tacky case for Xmas with my Missus...
  21. Standing per se was never 'unsafe'. Hillsborough was a disaster created by poor policing and subsequently covered up by corrupt policing. Laws made in knee-jerk reactions are almost invariably bad laws, and the requirement for all seated stadia was one of the classics, and is widely accepted as such. To suggest that standing areas returning will also lead to casual violence and racist chanting is patently absurd. I never met anyone who became more violent or racist when stood as opposed to adopting the seated position!
  22. London is the lifeblood of the nation, finacially and creatively. London's success pays for the regions' subsidies and millions of public sector jobs in the North. Absurd to say it sucks life out of the country. God help the rest if and when London declares independence!
  23. Certainly, in the early-mid 70s they had a decent hooligan following.
  24. Pains me to say it but they are bloody superb - witness their noise and passion at Stoke tonight. Wide repertoire of songs to boot. An example to us all.
  25. Thing is, when your legs go, they do so almost overnight.
