Completely agree, but the players will not throw their toys out of the pram and all demand to leave if we don't get promotion this year.

I'm not saying their ambition is to stay in league one, i'm saying that they will not be expecting a promotion straight away. If we don't get promoted next season, THEN we might start seeing some transfer requests.

I could not disagree more. This is one of the things that has made me so happy about the signings we've made; none of them will be expecting us to be promoted this year, which means they're here for the long term. We will not sell anyone we don't want to.

I would still be happy finishing midtable. The expectancy you speak of actually comes from Steve Tilson and Southend fans.

So hopefully the players will know from experience not to get all smug with themselves. Oldham will still be a tougher test than Southend, if we lose there it won't be much of a disaster, but 6 points from Dons and Orient is a must for me.
