Given that teams knew we had money, he was on a long contract and they had paid £6million for him 6 months earlier then it's not an unreasonable fee. Also when you contrast his impact compared to Ramirez who cost the same amount...it's a good analogy that. Long is worth that amount because of how positively he affects the team and fits into the system. Ramirez is undoubtedly the technically better player, but is he worth more to us than Long? Absolutely not.

Definitely 3-5-2. If you wanna be picky it's actually 3-2-3-2.

Have to say i thought Davis had an uncharacteristically bad game, gave the ball away sloppily on two occasions and then in the second half ran through on goal but inexplicably turned back to lay it off instead of taking it on himself.

Dropping Pelle? I really doubt it.

Long has been a great signing for us, I don't understand people slating him. Yes he has his limitations but he fits very, very well into the team and the way we want to play.

Shock horror, he plays through the middle and looks miles better - as did Long, and as would Mayuka. We need to stop this experiment of trying to play strikers out wide. It doesn't provide more goal threat, it just renders them completely ineffectual.
