My mate is a pompey fan and last time we played them he was living in Bedford Place. He went out and stayed in Portsmouth the night before, got the train with the rest of their fans. Then on the way back to the station told a copper he lived in Bedford Place and they let him out. I know it's not a bubble but seemed very easy. He doesn't look at all messy so I guess that helps

Most of them are home games? 40% of them were away, including a game at Wembley which is a lot more daunting than Fratton. And that doesn't include 'In fact, pretty much the whole run in last season' would include away games. We've only really had 1 (so called) big team away this season and that was Leicester. I was there an we battered them, unfortunately we came across a keeper in top form! Like I say, big game players. If they are up for it. We will win.

Big game players JPT Final Brighton last season Plymouth last season Walsall last season In fact, pretty much the whole run in last season West Ham this season Brighton this season 'Boro this season Leeds this season Ipswich this season Birmingham this season All these games were perceived as big games, and we won them all. Then we have games such as Donny, Coventry, Bristol City etc. We struggled to get up for these it seems. Hopefully the players see this as big a game as we do and NA can get them up for it. Because when we're up for it, we're near on unstoppable.

Thanks. Would love to be in control of those.

I think we have more 'big game players' these days. When they need to turn it on, they generally do. We have a lot of experience in our squad, even in the younger players I think we'll go 1-0 just before half time. Come out 2nd half, score early then go onto win. Will be nervy but we'll manage. I think I'd sell my soul for a 0-5 win

Are we getting the best out of Jack Cork
Golden Balls replied to Window Cleaner's topic in The Saints
He's played in all sorts of positions this season already. As mentioned, he looks his best either as a box to box man, or defensive midfielder. A lot like Matt Oakley. -
IIRC We had a lot of our U18 on international duty that week and basically had to play the U16s. I could be wrong though

I'm not calling you a liar, maybe misinformed? But I just find this hard to believe. When somthing is too good to be true.....

Shirt Or No Shirt For Pompey Away-Yes Or No!?!
Golden Balls replied to dannysfc's topic in The Saints
This will most likely be the safest game to wear a shirt to. The 'pwopa nawty bois' wont like it though. -
Agreed. Just made them sounds twice as loud

Really? I live in Plymouth and have always had a good response when I say I'm a Southampton fan. They still seem a bit tender about the whole Luggy thing, and the trouble in the home sections when we played them last year. However they still see Pompey as a bit of a rival because of the Navy connection. I've met loads of Saints fans down here

Nope. Totally untrue.

Should we be worried about next two local away derbies
Golden Balls replied to corsacar saint's topic in The Saints
We do seem to have big game players. They seem to struggle to get up for smaller game then really turn it on for the big ones. -
Today shows why we should have signed James Beattie

Or "You're only here to see Southampton, here to see Southaaaaampton, you're only here to see Southampton"
-
We'll never play here again or even better "You'll never play here again"
-
Agreed. He's had a fantastic season so far. He seems to get past players very easily and I can't work out how. And he has a hell of a cross on him. Why doesn't he take corners or free kicks?

Some Wetherspoons open at 7am, the rest at 9am. Head to one in town, have a fry up with a few pints and you're set for the day

Some fantastic chants here. I'm not a fan of chanting too much about the few at homes games when we're not playing them, however I think we should get some going at SMS against Blackpool so fans get to know the chants.

Pompey fans on TalkSport right now seem convinced they wont get a points deduction because West Ham didn't.
