  1. Bit early for this but I get the feeling he is the one for the long term. He could potentially become a massive SFC legend. If we go up this year he will achieve that title anyway. But if he then takes us on a level, maybe to europe and/or a domestic trophy or 2, he will be up for a statue next to Ted. And I fully believe he has the ability to take us there.
  2. They seem to not realise the 'cup final' comment was last season. This season he agreed with the reporter that we are there to be shot as, because we're top of the league. I look forward to their match day programme with some sarcastic 'Cup Final' headline
  3. Strange one but I guess it's another positive. I guess we won it as the result got a lot of publicity. To those not in The Championship, they see West Ham as the team to beat who will do a Newcastle and us as the newly promoted club on a decent run...until that result.
  4. Or you could look at the the Leicester game where Schmichael had a quite astonishing game as well as us hitting the frame of the goal Or you coud look at the chance late on at Derby where Lambert headed back across goal and it miss Hammond by inches. And Derbys goal was offside. Or you could look at Cardiff game where Morgan was through 1 on 1 and it was saved. Or the West Ham game where Guly missed 1 on 1 or De Ridder had a goal wrongfully disallowed. But we still won Margins are slim both ways. That's football. Whatever will be will be, Southampton are top of the league.
  5. Sorry, I didn't word that very well. What I meant was the op said its been 12 games since we 'failed' to score. Which implies 13 games ago, we failed to score. Which is not the case. The stat on that website basically says we have scored in all 12 games so far. Therefore we have not 'failed to score' at any point *touch wood* - Although we came bladdy close against Cardiff.
  6. I must say, I wasn't exactly overwhelmed when be appointed Adkins but he really has proved any doubters wrong. I like everything about him and he seems the sort of man to have long term. Hope we see a return to the old days when managers stay for over 10 years. I would be delighted if Adkins is in charge for the foreseeable future
  7. Thanks for cutting out half of what I said in that quote. I guess that suits you. By the way, I'm no sceptic. I enjoy being devils advocate. I do believe humans have SOME effect. I can't see how when we burn 30 billion tons of carbon every year that it doesn't have an effect. However, it is massively over hyped though which conveniently pushes up taxes.
  8. Climate change has happened since the begining of time. It accelerates and decelerates. And you will love to know, the planet hasn't been 'warming', infact the tempature has gone down slightly in the last 10 years.
  9. I like Lord Moncktons approach [video=youtube;QYvbibO-SlI]
  10. It was louder than usual, but I wish they would realise that the slow 'Oh when the Saints..' goes twice through before the clapping starts.
  11. Wow. Slow news day I guess.
  12. We've had many threads on the subject. Goal music is sh1t!!
  13. Not totally correct as we have only played 12 games this season and the game before that was in League 1. So we've scored in all 12 games, not 'failed' to score. MLG would be proud.
  14. (Cant be bothered to read the whole thread to see if it's been said, but...) Didn't we set a stadium record for MLT's testimonial as there was no segregation? Edit: Just looked it up. It was 31,904. Can't believe there were tickets left for that
  15. "There is no doubt in my mind, we were playing the champions last night" "...the Southampton support was superb...also putting our home support to shame. We could learn a thing or two of of them and I thought I would never say that!"

  17. This
  18. I guess it coming out for the West Ham game was a no then. Nice
  19. Very impressive. Wish we could have it open more often. Really adds to the atmosphere
  20. Steve something. Bit annoying and over the top. Leicester had good HT entertainment. It's not need though
  21. Yes it would. If there are only 4 teams there with something to play for and the rest dont have to worry about relegation, the interest will go down, meaning what I said would happen, would happen. You say kids who support teams like Oldham also support one of the big 4....well that maybe true. However kids do not pay for anything into football and when they grow up they tend to realise you pick 1 team. If one of their teams they support is local, they'll generally choose that.
  22. Not if they've got a head on their shoulders. It wouldn't be guaranteed. The money wont be there when within a couple of years because... People stop going to games People stop buying the shirts People stop watching it on tv and generally lose interest Sponsors will begin to pull out Prawn sandwich patrol will stop going Demand for TV rights will be less meaning Sky wont have to pay anywhere near as much to get the rights The leagues would get less money meaning less rewards Clubs get less money Football dies.
  23. No. My mum had it as a door bell once. It was after I had moved out. It rang that tune and was ripped off the wall within 17 seconds.
  24. Why? We went years (and plenty of pomp*y games) with blocks 1 & 2 open. Guess it's just a last resort
