Is Ince actually back playing again after his injury? Young players & Hamstrings. Maybe there is a reason that Liverpool decided to wait or move on. We don't know. Forren came out of left field when we were saying we can only do one deal at a time. I think we are likely to go the same way here. But of course, once Coutinho sees parts of Liverpool he may want to change his mind

For as long as I can see indications that he is taking counsel from other people with experience in football then even though I do not like him I will be Pro. Football is a results business. He's now made two massively bad "PR" decisions on Adkins and Pardew. The first one worked better than anyone could have imagined. From that he has earned the chance to make this decision, and it APPEARS that he listened to Counsel rather than did it on a whim. The minute it starts to appear that he is NOT listening or seeking counsel and starts believing he knows it all (OR starts talking down to us every day) then I will be over to help put a rope next to Rupert's on the Itchen Bridge.

FFS CEO's are not nice people. In fact the primary ability of a CEO is to be a complete knob to everyone on their way to the top. I'm sure there are as many people out there who have had their lives ruined by Branson as there are those who praise him from the rooftops. Many CEO's go too far and destroy their company (Goodwin for example the dickhead Weinstock at GEC), many actually create very successful companies. Everything MLT says is true about NC and we as fans must continue to question that NC retains the interests of Southampton Football Club in his quest to "Change the World of Football" and no doubt turn us into a club he can make a zillion Euros selling when we own the world of football. As LONG as NC is not doing a Pompey with our money and the club and team and results are improving then in many ways it IS important that NC is "Not a nice person" as that is a key element in driving success and not tolerating failure or even average performance. Perhaps one day when we are stabilised in the PL he can appoint a VP of Niceness to resolve the many issues we grumble about. But right now we want to stay up and NC is right to focus on that and the future (unlike WHU focusing on the now). NC is treading an incredibly dangerous path/fine line. MLT whilst reminding us to be vigilant is NOT doing us any favours at the moment. The next month is about seeing the team get better and being in position to have a good run to the end of season. We need Nige's positive attitude for a month or so, not continual negativity. MLT has also painted himself into a corner. IF NC pulls this off he's gonna look very stupid. We live in dangerous days, as a fan MLT should think about that and aim his bullets carefully for a few weeks NC is a cn*t, but he is still OUR cn*t. His decisions have got us to the PL and playing a style of football many of us never believed was possible. I just pray he doesn't go all Rupert on us

NC is a Banker, they invest money in Businesses that have a plan or a strategy and can show a Return. He did what any wise & successful Businessman would do - went out and sought advice and off he went. He TOLD us what he intended to do on day one. So it has not been rocket science. It is clear that the players bought into it and of course Adkins bought into it. The rest of us simply sit here and, along with the media keep saying "he must be mad". That is not how it is done. Well, why the hell not? Arsenal did something similar but seem to have lost their way of late (perhaps they should have upgraded Wenger?) Swansea have done something similar, and to an extent Villa have tried something similar. But, now here is the rub. THIS IS NOTHING NEW TO SAINTS. It is, to all intents and purposes as if NC simply walked in to SMS, opened a filing cabinet and found Rupert Lowes "Business Plan". There really was nothing wrong with the idea Rupert had. The problem was simply the man himself. Cortese (from what we have heard) does seem to talk to people in football, he does seem to listen (Mourinho telling him about Mo Po as an example) whereas Rupert went around "Knowing it all" (well he kept telling us he knew it all every week in the programme/media) Also the other difference is NC has the money. (Even without Liebherr we have 60mil this year, a squad worth what we paid for it IF we get relegated and FOUR years of INCREASED parachute payments. So it is no surprise to me (Although I must admit to thinking he must be madder than a Boruc IF he really believes it can work) But wow, what if it did?
