  1. I think they are about to become the smallest Club on the central Southern England Map, could be very funny watching it and I think this thread is likely to last until at least February/March next year.
  2. Oh carp. That narrows it down to about 18,976,432 people, all of whom want me Dead or Alive... OR in my TSW Forum Match persona, well, what did you expect, you took part in a Sport event & I am a Global Sporting Legend, Who was it? Teddy Sheringham? Gordon Ramsey? Tiger Woods? et al... :smt044
  3. +1 The problem with Trusts is the whole archaic "Committee" structure. It is a Brit thing this wish for "being important" and so you get the opinion of the members interpreted by "The Leadership". Which is why Gordon Brown was allowed to bankrupt you lot, but hey that's a dig at Politics. The Feeling of this forum is good but how many times have the "Admin" actually been able to put that opinion outside here into the media. How many times have we even been mentioned on a Match Day commentary for example. We KNOW they read us and some are even articulate members but we are NEVER quoted.. Time for the Admins to start to type Press Releases of our Poll results
  4. Sweet, even got an "oh wow" from a Poland fan
  5. Although we have settled down of late, one issue with forums is that many people find the internal bickering distasteful. To a large extent we have lost the worst of the WUM's but we still only have around 150 people online at any one time. We took 51,000 to Wembley, we have around 10% of that as members and a lower percentage as regular posters like yourself. Is that really democratic? We need the Lurkers to become more involved and we need to become more tolerant of alternative opinions (Well except GS & AS - only joking guys!) How many on here are real and how many have just developed a specific Internet Persona? Forums would take the place of Trusts IF we all had our real names and our Avatars were our actual photos. And THAT ain't ever gonna happen. If we get 1500 forum members turning up and introducing themselves to each other at the TSW Forum match then maybe it could work but it won't
  6. Oh that was nice. The Subways have decided to pop down to my leaving on a jet plane party Friday night. Big respect to Ericofarabia for pulling that rabbit out of the hat. (I'll let him tell the story of his phone call on that subject :-) ) By the looks of it I should leave the gig just in time to get to the airport for the flight back. Meh, can sleep when I'm dead and all that. Subways & Courgettes in one weekend wow) Anyone want any Duty Frees or Autographs? (Oh and no, sorry all the tobacco allowance has been blagged as has the Grantybottle but still plenty of cheap booze allowance & smelly stuff available)
  7. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into SMS.... Big Phil starts the long journey, sort of almost hear the menacing music from Jaws as he begins circling his prey. Off to a conference for next two days (wow WORK!) then with the 4th schedule change so far I now fly back Saturday and yes BOATHOUSE SALISBURY on Saturday night for the Courgettes Gig peeps. Bad news is the after party may be a little gentler than planned as I have to now rush back here with the Trophy before Interpol catch up with me on Friday lunchtime Trying to work out if I have room & time to bring the golf sticks.
  8. Mind you that had feck all to do with Sports Fashion, more to do with the fact that it was fecking freezing!
  9. Wow, talk about SPIN. Worst kept secret in Football - he couldn't WAIT to get away!
  10. I do believe that you missed out one important word there.... Allegedly
  11. Infract the Witch Infract the Witch :weedman: Quoting the Snail on the Main forum page The cracking bit is the way the SAME article says ... Wolves hope Lallana follows Drew to Molineaux lol
  12. But surely all the uberfans will be there?
  13. All decent sized companies hold an annual review of their business and a forward planning session. In my years down here I have been dragged to Thailand, Egypt, UK, france Holland and USA to attend the Review meetings. In all business these days you are only as good as your last set of revenue results. If you have a bad year you MAY get the chance to put your new plan to Management and they may give you a month or so to see if you can keep to your word. NC comes from BUSINESS. This process is in your DNA. He will meet with the manager and review 2009/10 Season and discuss plans for 2010/11. Utterly, totally normal. Any employee attending such a review will know to prepare or face getting his/her ass kicked into next month or worse. The Press simply read that correctly. AP's job was on the line. No sh1t Sherlock, it always will be in any critical job (unless you are a BA Hostie) Was there any chance of AP getting fired? Yes if he turned up with a fag packet and a few scribbled notes. But of course he wouldn't as he is experienced. he turned up with the "Business Plan" for next season. he presented it, it has been approved, NORMAL business process. Now the FACT that some on here OR some in the media have never been measured in tehir jobs or don't understand that led to the Interpretation. Every year for 16 Years "D_P's job on the line as Management seek to review performance" could have been the headline. Reality was - piece of cake and lots of airmiles and another sightseeing trip. It will take a long time before NC fully learns that "The bleedin obvious" to him means "Disaster at SMS to the Media"
  14. Me me me oh yes ME! This is perfect, am off on summer hols in July and will be stopping over for a few days on the way back here and bingo 12 quid is 60 Dirhams less than the cost of two pints AND I get to see the boys at SMS. What's more I won't care that I'm sitting all on my own in the Itchen
  15. That is unfair. I used to be a valued BA customer, and I can safely confirm that I did once see a flight attendant (in a skirt) who was 38. (That was of course her waist-line measurement in inches) Sorry I shouldn't, I have had pleasantly flirtatious moments on long haul flights with at least a couple of younger cutey's.
  16. Are you French? just seems an awfully long lunchtime. Oh and if you get a chance can you have a word with that Volcano and tell it to settle down again. Cheers
  17. Cheers. And we end the discussion with. How much did BA LOSE last quarter? About 500mil wasn't it? And in the same period Emirates made How Much - yep, about 500mil. Someone ought to also point out to the BA crew that no other airline is going to employ cabin crew over the age of about 30 in the future either so wiping BA out is a really dumb career move.
  18. Just want to understandI have it correct. Union went on strike over plans to cut number of crew on flights from Heathrow. Union were told they would be in danger of losing their rights to free travel if they cost BA millions in losses Went on strike, Employees had their rights to free travel removed Union conceded the crew cuts. BA said you can have SOME rights to free travel back , but we DID tell you what would happen. So the Union are back on strike because of thier members losing free travel perks because of their action supporting a strike that the Union gave in on. Sound about right? So the Union are trying to cause 100's of millions of more losses which means more cost cuts and redundancies will be needed over the fact that the employees in the Union WANT TO FLY FOR FREE. Nice one
  19. Why stop there? Ryanair to Istanbul for 8 quid, hitch hike in a truck across Turkey to the border, slip across at night and wander around Helmund with the real thing not BB guns. Plenty of Tellytubbies about, no rules, and probably cheaper than Paintball. Paintball, just remove the T to understand the sport. Finish playing and everything hurts
  20. Well, TSW will be there en masse next Thursday, we'll try and see what they are up to and stick some pictures up. Better still why not come down yourself? Funds raised are for Charity after all and you'll be able to have a damned good p*ss take out of most of us in the flesh as well as on here afters
  21. Hehehe. Not sure that is quite what he meant. The Marketing side of this is the classic for Draino.... I'm going to Thailand on business (Civil War not withstanding) Answer No you are fecking not, I know what business you are thinking about take that you Sod, whack I'm going to Dubai on Business. Ooh that sounds exciting can you get me something nice from the Gold Soukh.
  22. Oh now come on I avoided naming any names and what do you do....:smt081 Had 2 Brits down last week, got dragged down the Seaview, the band have a new 2nd Guitarist and have finally started to play some more recent and Indie type stuff, not many but it is a start. BTW MLT was in town at the weekend, Black Tie Charity Dinner at The Creek - 150 quid a ticket. And no we didn't go Bit like Avram now - circumstances changed couldn't find my Thai
  23. They come once and then just keep coming..... Strangely, on a different note, every summer we get an infestation of Premier League players AND Managers here. I'm sure they journey here for the Beaches and the fact they get ignored by us lot. (Yeah right by June it's 40C out there)
  24. What you have to remember is that Dubai is Bling Central - everything is slick chill out lounge style with ludicrously priced drinks and Asian "Yeah I gotta groovy name & wannabe Hip" DJ's from Asia earning US$300 a month If the bar doesn't have chill out tunes it has a DJ playing Cheese or a band playing covers of Madonna/Kylie all night - pure vomit inducing schmaltz. So getting a set of old US Stadium Anthems from the 80's with a smattering of Queen & Pink Floud and the occassional Hendrix thrown in is like an antidode to this whole Bling culture. It IS a cack hole but it is a nugget. All the tourists cannot understand why the Bass player isn't off earning a real career. if you can get past the dodgy accents in the songs (which a few pints normally do). There are two other bars like it with good "antidote Bands" Music Room at the Majestic Hotel & the Presidents Hotel bar. Best proper "Western" Cover band is in Rock Bottom. Best ever Pub Band back in the early mid 90's was at Pancho Villas (now a horrid cheap Hooker Bar) but in those days they were stunning and a close second were the band at The Alamo then Carters, Bryan Adams, Ronan Keating & Rod Stewart have all got up on stage and played with them, Big Life is their name singer looks like Sade & Guitarist looked like Gazza, downside they played Madge & Kylie all night. Carters was home for the England team on their way to Japan in 2002 and yes Kadeem there is a story about the Team & Emirates girls that can never be told on a public forum from there.
