  1. Anyone who cannot understand what that says really deserves to appeal the penalty and see what then happens! In plain English it says - we will help you out now STFU.
  2. So a bloke you know from work comes up to you and says "I have a deal for you" You rush off and collect the family silver and your pension plan and give it to this bloke? It is fair to say that quite a few people fall for this sort of thing, quite a few of them "demand something must be done" or "look to blame someone else". But at the end of the day you took the "blokes' word for it" and you made the judgement call. It isn't as if it doesn't happen in life. Which is why there is a saying "A fool and his money are soon parted"
  3. Thomas is not a Full Back. He's a fit in. As we have seen with Harding & Semi, there are proper Full Backs around who come at a proper (for this League) price. We need a proper RB to cover for Semi, a youngster possibly Then we have to look at the CB situation. Jaidi is how old? How long was his contract? We have Seaborne, would you want Thomas in or would you want another younger CB as 4th choice? In midfield we need that cover for MS/Hammond, and TBH at this level and next season we will need RESULTS, not POTENTIAL. If James is your first choice CM cover then he should stay, but could you buy better out there? Do you REALLY want to put your hand on your heart and "your job on the line" by saying Gillett will get us promoted? Not that he could do it but that in case of injury he HAS to do it? It is going to be a harsh summer this year, so many clubs feeling the pinch and so many players will find it hard to get new clubs. There will be a lot more Hardings available for little money on little wages able to deliver when called into the team. The reserves and the Academy will have another year to turn out the next Lloyd James's. Expect to see a lot of movement outwards from the out of contracts and probably ther fringe players and only one or two coming in. Unless a Big Name decides they want to leave for better pastures.
  4. Why the Android is right to blame Storrie. Storrie uses the excuse "It wasn't me, I didn't do it" as he attempts to pass the blame off onto his multitude of owners. This is like many of his public utterances, wrong. PCFC were clearly unsustainable as a business concern from the moment that Sacha decided to "sell up" or "get out". From that point onwards during the summer recess, there was, to all intents and purposes, NO owner. All the decision making was by the Executives of the Club. Now, it was clear that the club was unsustainable, the Execs had a very specific choice to make. Did they decide to cut their cloth according to the new realities of the Economic Situation, and their Income? No, they decided to build their entire 2010/11 Season around cost structures that were unsustainable. Sacha did not do this, THE MANAGEMENT did. Their entire Business Strategy was "We'll find a buyer in the biggest recession since the war". Next we look at the "New Buyers". It is a responsibility of the Officers of a company to exercise Due Care and attention, not to mention Due Diligence when a takeover situation arises. The Management will often decide whether to recommend a sale to the shareholders. Did this happen with Al Fahim? Clearly no. IF there was a potential problem with Al Fahim did The Mangement bring this to the public's attention? No, so they were conned as well or were they simply negligent? As for Al Faraj, Storrie was clearly linked in the media to this consortium, again what Due Care and attention did he use? But it is all Al Faraj's fault. Was Storrie conned or was he simply negligent? (Or potentially was it worse in that he or his associates were due Engagement Fees?) So you now have a Management Team who have chosen an unsustainable business plan. They have (if they are innocent of Due Care mistakes) been conned TWICE. But this is not THEIR fault? Show me ONE business anywhere in the world that would allow a team of Executives to remain in place that had made ONE catastrophic mistake, let alone THREE. Storrie "Battled hard to save the club" Unfotunately the battle was due to the decisions he helped to take while the "Owner" was getting out. What else aren't you telling Peter?
  5. Another ex wife moment with an I told you so The money won't come from the PL that's for sure, it wil be a loan and will have a lot of strings BUT will be likely be designed to pay for the admin/wages and will have an almost credit card level of interest - IMHO  http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=757181&sec=england&cc=4716 http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/12623.html?CMP=OTC-RSS Hahahaha - That last one tells it as it is
  6. What many on here forget is the other "obvious" opportunity. The club stands in the way of a massive redevelopment. Forget the "Leisure Use" that can be got around by negotiation. BUT it could very well be that the main creditors benefit MORE from having no club than they would from the club being bought for 10p in the pound. It comes down to the maths of the redevelopment. That is the sad mess they now find themselves in
  7. I see a problem emerging now with this thread. It's starting to make me depressed. How the FECK can we analyse stuff and see so clearly what is about to happen up the road and yet when it comes to using those same skills in the Prediction League or at the Bookies we keep fecking it up.. Surely between us we should have been able to have won the fecking EuroMilliions Draw by now. Or is it simply that it is all so obvious. Is it really that they have discovered our previous best seller "How Not to take over a football club with foreword by Paul Allen" and are now merely reading that same script. This thread has said "Told You so" more times than my ex-wife, and THAT's one feck of an achievement
  8. A minimum of -10. In fact they will have to convince the FL that they actually have the ability to pay their way otherwise they won't be allowed to play. Forget the CVA, before they get to that they MUST pay all footballing debts or they will not be granted their "playing licence". Plenty of time yet. Me, I just hope they hurry up and sort out their "drain the parachute cash to keep going" deal with the PL. The more they spend now he further they have to come back from
  9. Sleeping off the disappointment, some thoughts overall. The talk of the most expensive team in the League getting turned over - meh, it isn't as if the Old Saints never went away to Man Ure or Liverpool or Arsenal and put in a hard shift of harrying battling and tactical nous to get a result against big bucks and better players. The worry though i that teams HAVE worked out how to stop us playing. The coaching adage is either our superior players will work it out and overcome that and our "Class Will Tell" or you understand that you need different Horses for Different Courses. The problem with the "imposing yourself" route is that it needs confidence and consistency, and I don't know if it is there yet. Are we being arrogant as a team and as fans? Swindon are agood side, we seemed to go out and play our normal way (and support our normal way) and we expected a win... Some weeks we can play expansive football with two wide players, other weeks we will need a tighter tougher midfiled 3 or 4 with only one wide player or one up front. IMHO it is valid to lay the blame at AP's door with this "pick the best team" approach, and there is no doubt that in a 4-4-2 we have a damned good 1st XI, but sometimes we need something dfferent. Also, when you look at the bench we don't have real options in central midfield, Thomas is not a "Rampaging Full Back" and you start to wonder if we have got the 1st XI right but at the expense of a squad that gives us cover to play the same way. Clearly Thomas is not going to replace like for like style with Semi. He is a different type of player (A CB by trade) So, we have quality on the bench in Papa, Connelly, Antonio, but Wotton & James in CM? At least Mills is a youngster learning his trade, not in the same level as Harding but at least not a CB getting a game and possibly upsetting the balance. But we have a lot of rubbish hanging around the fringes that needs to go and be replaced by fewer better stand-ins. I'm a happy bunny, we've had a damned good season, I enjoy listening to the games and seeing the team progressing. I am damned disappointed that we have thrown away stupid points, and I think that AP isn't matching his tactics to the need of a paticular set of circumstances or type of game. But I keep saying that I look for learning from mistakes and I believe it is better that as a unit our management and players stay together into next season. But, without joining the wrist slitters I do feel that "Something must be done" about our seeming (from a distance) inability to "tweak things around" and to keep walking into the trap of being out competed. Our creative players need space. Deny them that and we don't perform - ain't my sentiment it's Big Dave's. I worry he keeps saying it because it keeps happening
  10. +1 But wise posts never work on after game threads. Merrington has summed it up very well right now
