Spent Friday night at my Daughters flat in London on my way back here. Her BF & his Dad are long time Spuds. Spent a good hour splashing round a golf course in Hail, Sleet & Rain early Saturday morning explaining that they have a really important role to play for the good of Football next weekend. They get it, they dislike the cheats as much as anyone else, they don't want to simply win they want to embarrass them. Fingers Crossed

Just caught up with the "End of David Tennant" episodes - Waters of Mars & End of Time - yeah we're a year behind on satellite down here - so had to resort to DVD from HMV. When watched straight through they have it all, tugs on the heart strings, great over-acting from Timothy Dalton (James Bond in Dr Who - lol times HAVE changed), Bernard Cribbins as Luke Skywalker and a peroxide blonde John Simms out over-acting Bond. Great entertainment value, really well acted even if the actual story lines were a little bit too much like an OTT farewell party for Davies. Best summary would be to say he did a great job bringing the Doc back and as a Swansong we can let him have his moment. It could have gone wrong, it nearly did with the sentimental goodbyes, but it didn't, and hell yes it was an enjoyable few hours of DVD watching. So now we wait for the new series and the skills of Stephen Moffat. Do we use dodgy IP address hiding technology to stream IPlayer onto the laptop with our lousy band width down here or do we wait for the DVD's in 6 months? Judging by the reviews of the New Doc's first episode, think it will be streaming time. (Oh and is it Kiss-A-Gram or Kiss-O-Gram?) Seems the reviews cannot decide!

How goes the training gang? Any members of the Away Team who are NOT registered with any Local League Teams? Been doing some work on the after party and with the recession thought that we could do with raising some funds for the kitty. I've been approached by an agent looking for unregistered players to make up the numbers in some meaningless end of season kick-abouts, apparently you'll just be getting the pre-match warm-up and filling the 4 unused spaces in the bench. In return they have apparently rustled up a half dozen cases of Kronenburg. They will arrange free transport and you get your meals paid for. No idea who the team is but Pin Zhavi sounded like a nice bloke on the phone

Strange, a normal working day here, and with the clocks going forward up there KO is now 6pm local time so within normal work hours. Think they'll have a new manager syndrome which will likely stop the big bounce back win but as it's only an internal caretaker should see us scrape a 2-0 win.

All I heard was that intellectually he makes your standard Liverpudlian Chav sound like Stephen Fry. Twas but a rumour from the bloke that used to wash the cement trucks at RMC, but with the lack of games he has played sounds feasible

Burnley v Citeh. Would you leave early if it was Saints?
dubai_phil replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
To be honest LTC, not in their wildest dreams could Saints fans have dreamt the board would appoint Steve Wigley, Paul Sturrock et al  My point though is that the club wasn't ready for the PL. That goes from the very top downwards. The Board simply had no experience of that level of football, they tried to do what a CCC club would do, they appointed someone available, they didn't go out and look for the RIGHT person with the experience. Such as Gary Megson -
A 6,854 mile round trip is just a little excessive... However, it was really great to see so many of the lads from way back when at Baker Street last weekend. My, how we have aged! The sudden flood of memories of when we were uberfans - was almost a Tijuana Tim moment. So many of us with our kids (ranging from 23 down to about 5) all in their shirts and all singing the RLSGM song...... Being treated with a degree of contempt from some, watching "terrified tourists" faced with "Horrid football hooligans" trying to squeeze through the queue of "old farts" waiting for the pub to open. Nowhere to have a pee, watered down beers, just bloody marvellous. Being moaned at by ticket collectors for being rowdy - hell, that was only the Zimmerframes being rattled.... Oh and of course Courage Best at only 2.05 a pint in Baker Street & Rudlles Country 1.95 a pint in Leicester Square.... Ah cheap beer, no wonder we used to drink so much of it. You lucky people able to go each or most weeks! Make the most of these days. Sooner or later life comes along and makes it damned hard to keep doing it.

Fickle bunch of ****s. They wanted the PL. They dreamt the dream. They patently were not ready as a club or as a team. They failed to find a way to keep the manager who got them there. And THEN they walk out? They wanted PL football and they got it, be careful that if you wish for something you can take the good times AND the bad. Will serve them right when they go down with Pompey. You wanted it, you got it. -
Spent the weekend with daughter & future son-in-law who's a Spud. He went to the league game last week and had tkts in the Skate end. He said he simply could not understand how many of them actually found their way into a football stadium, the nastiest, gnarly people he's ever had the misfortune to spend 90 mins with. They all believe it's a PL conspiracy still, he was quite shocked and now has joined the "how the hell can the media call them fantastuc fans" brigade. Looks like I haven't missed anything, am sipping Champers in the lounge on my way back home after a great week spoiled by Thursday's result. Will look forward to waiting for the deposit to arrive with Android - "The man who gives liquidators a bad name" - not my words but the industry scuttlebutt allegedly

Like others have said, it was a spine tingling moment, but not simply for the wall of noise but with the sheer intensity of how it was sung, it simply came out as a massive statement of intent. Watch out the world of football, The Saints are Coming. We are on the way back. Another awesome moment in an awesome day

Yes, I think the Home Team showers will be the place for that sort of weirdness though, although I have heard that Watermelons provide more relief than Oranges due to size constraints. Meanwhile I wish to point out once again that there cannot have been any relationship between me and last year's ref. Nobody in my family would be allowed to live past birth if they had been born with hair like he had

Well, let's face it, ANYONE could be a distant releative. I'm 3427 miles away from Blighty. A one off statement? Who do you think you are? Some Portsmouth takeover dreamer luvvie? Where's the PROOF! Relative to what? Staked out in the desert covered with honey will be too good for you. And anyway, I'm allergic to Gin, you even got THAT wrong. It was Babycham

Outside the Nags Head in Covent Garden. Bloke in no colours having a fag as I start to walk in... You feckin C***, you feckin Bstd, you complete bunch of as**** I can't believe you would fecking do something like that you miserable sods... It wasn't enough that you thrashed us but THAT - why? I'm like do what? Crikes, where's the aggression from dude? and he breaks into a smile - and says "I'm Carlisle mate, me and my 4 pals all had you down to win 5-1 with Lambert to get the first goal, 120-1 we had got on that and you feckers stopped playing after 60 minutes.... Had a good laugh and a great chat after that,

Saints 4-1 Carlisle - 2010 JPT Champions - Reaction

The Saints are Coming. That was a special day from start to finish, everyone will have a moment, a story, or a memory. Thankyou to the people who helped me get there, thankyou to AP for preparing the players so that nobody froze on the day, thankyou to the players for doing such a professional job, thankyou to the Ref for not being an idiot and ruining the game and thankyou to all the Carlisle and other fans around London in the evening who said great things about our club. It was just a wonderful day. Now let's do it again and again and a fecking gain -
That is it.No more Mr Fecking nice guy. The gloves are off. This is WAR. Away Team - I've lined up some kung Fu lessons after what that miserable whining bstd did to me last night. That whole happy clappy Saints family feeling - out the window. We meet up for a a beer to patch up our differences and what does that sod do? Only takes the LAST fecking taxi in the fecking taxi rank. Leaves me, all dressed up in 18 layers of winter clothing & waterproofs FREEZING my t*ts off in the rain while HE hops in the last taxi JUST BECAUSE he was only wearing a T-shirt. EIGHT HOURS I waited, That taxi service was slower than one of Foxy's through balls. This is WAR, as soon as I find a proper internet access Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr Anyone know a good cure for a cold?

Metropolitan at Baker Street only 2.10 for a pint of Courage Best. Good start to beer up and meet loads of friends haven't seen in years. Then Covent Garden having found the pubs were shut at Baker St That was fun, everyone stoppin to chat telling us well done how blah blha blah Am told we also went to Moon over the Water in Leicester Square before training back home Think it was fun, but I do know it took an hour to get to Staines on the train

Up early to set off for the airport, and spent 10 minutes lolage at the score last night and the fact they will be saddled with their murky history from the Grauniad article. That has put me in a good mood. Have fun over the weekend gang

Had to do a bit of John Denver at Karaoke this evening Why? 'Cos I'm leaving on a Jet Plane, don't give a fook when I'll be back again COYR's
-
Well that's gonna be a simple one, Spuds will buy all their players obviously. Unless the wrong agent with his dodgy Mercedes was arrested in France of course:cool:
-
I'm sure we could help them out and send them Pulis, sure he'd jump at the chance to cancel his contract and play in teh PL for a few weeks, and the bonus is he won't be cup tied

Who would have thought that such a cunning plan hatched over a few beers in Dock Gate 19 by the forum boys could have worked out so well (allegedly) Where next shall we set our sights? Should we stick to football or should we set our sites higher? Why not Greece? should solve the Elgin Marbles Problem once and for all and give us all discounts on our summer hols. Alright I was joking, (just) but Forum II afters will be a fun chance to all sit down and review the past year

You were lucky, I know of blokes that had to depart before the semi final and won't get back until it's time for the playoff final. Pah Trains and Boats & Planes We must all be effing mad :-)

Busy packing my bags, can't wait for this, one of those when the Day is everything, but a win makes it a special moment in life. Won't be an easy game even with our strongest side on the pitch. Worried about Morgan's fitness slightly more than Lallana's but would be gut-wrenching if we were without one or heaven forbid both. You lucky people will have a rest from me typing BS on here for a weekend, so that HAS to be a plus point! :-) First trip for ages where I am praying to the Footballing Gods rather than the Upgrade Gods. Certainly intend wearing the shirt on the flight tomorrow and it's like being a kid at Christmas all over again. COYR's
