Tim For the MKD game a local sports bar here promised they would be showing it. Turned out it wasn't on any of the 3 Arabic Satellite systems nor on the South African DST system. Will do some digging but.... The pub owner had set up a Slingbox (no idea what they are but they do apparently work to allow you to watch Sky over the Internet). However on the night it wasn't working and so we ended up watching a very slow stream from Justin TV on a big screen in a pub. To be honest, it was pants. There are tickets around via the "Sports Event Management Companies" but they are expensive compared to list. I have used them in the past for work when we needed to run events (Barca v Real Madrid for 40 customers). So IMHO either you phone a friend with a spare (there should be some around) or you bite the bullet and get across. Although you may have left THAT a bit late with BA on strike and limiting the options. Would not be good to go round to Justin's place to watch. PM if you need help

Great news. My routine is slowly building momentum as well, especially as I had taken a break with all the golf work going on. I am now getting up to the first milestone of 4 pints every other night. Hopefully this will stand me in good stead for the big weekend at the JPT and I can take that on as I build up to the big night.

IMHO once the Court Case is out the way, this place is likely to get busy again, I think many things have been placed on hold pending the outcome, not just the points deduction issue. We'll see

Have Liverpool declared yet?

You better stay off the Export Gold mate and get back on The Steinlager

For some reason, when I saw the thread title (and before I found out who it was) I had a flashback and thought of Benthelegend... Who is that blonde bird, she's so Dominant... Then you guys went and ruined it, ho hum by mentioning Ferne Cotton

There was mention of Investec in one of the early posts. They are approved as a funding source by the PL & are to the best of my knowledge involved in factoring football debts. Why they may wish to change their business model now is interesting as it would impact on their possible neutrality. Of course another option could be that with a squad worth 28mil they sell the lot and get the cash straigh back at a discount of between 10 & 15%. Nice asset strip, covers the 3mil fee. Obviously it won't be that, but the wise Few would be sensible to do a lot of digging before jumping into bed, in a mess as big as been made down there, you can always find an angle if you have no shame.

Every true Football Club has it's real unsung heroes. This event seems to be a a fantastic way of marking their involvement, dedication and importantce Well done to Herbie for the award, but most of all Respect for all those years of dedication. Well done, great story

Hmm Deja Vu again. OK he talks the talk much better obviously, but is there anything in that which is not a rehash of the LLS/Tony Lynham press statements when we were in admin? High net worth backers? Hmmm. Clearly the club is now a property speculation deal, (it's amazing what a Happy local Council will approve if you talk about The Club & Community) But if I was a Few fan there is one really important bit of research to start doing. The Numbers. How much is NottArf and it's surroundings WORTH in a property deal? What PROFIT can they make? Hedge Funds don't do charity, they do profits. Then to see if this is going to work ask whether Gaydamark & Chanrai know this figure. Because if they do then picking up a dead Club and selling for redevelopment themselves is potentially worth much more to them than a few pence in the pound. Good luck to them but it won't be about the promises, personality or the club's opportunity it will be down to the Maths.

And the average attendance at Nott Arf Krap is? With the best fans in the world/

Having watched our circus last year, surely you & I can't be the only ones that see alarm bells all over this. Talk to the fans before talking to AA? For THEIR sake I hope it is real. But deep down I wonder if this is about a bloke with cash flow problems showing a large organisation he can deliver in order to earn Engagement Fees and leverage

Some people will put any old excuse to their boss in order to earn Airmiles. It all depends when your Gold Card expires of course. I once managed to get a travel request approved to Monte Carlo for a few days. Middle East region needs to learn the market dynamics blah blah blah. (And it was Cup Final Weekend in '03) and no direct flights so had to go via London;)! (Sod the Ozone layer, peeps HAVE to keep their Lounge Access cards)

oops http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=755558&sec=england&cc=4716 Oops OK So the Derby game for Mero & PES. Understand the history. Us "not allowed to support Saints" Ex Pats spent the past couple of seasons heading down to the pub to watch Televised matches that invariably involved conceding a goal inside 35 seconds and then getting worse. Compare that to the Derby Game where yes you thumped us, BUT for 45 minutes we did outplay you and where over 100+ people in the pub (minus the one Skate) actually enjoyed watching us play our football. That was a phase sihift, not just for us but also those other fans watching (who were waiting for their PL games to start) That for us was actually a really important moment, for the first time since beating Spuds in 2003 on Telly in the Cup, WE EARNED RESPECT instead of sympathy. So there is a "yeah whatever" attitude about that match, but you guys have to understand that was when we realised you won the battle but the war really is not going to go your way. Take the victory, take your moment, we clung to them the past few years like you will, but we learnt they count for nothing if everything else is fecked up. As for the LLS approach to marketing that Rob Lloyd has adapted. I would be worried and clearly Android is as well. And as for the Storrie revelations, I have only ONE question. Does wnyone on here REALLY think that the unprofessional way he pushed Willie M up the creditors list is the ONLY dirty laundry about to come out? For the sake of our wiser posters that make this place interesting, you better REALLY hope that Storrie pays them off because it WILL get worse, the knives are out.

Ah another perfect Dubai day. Golf Day for those that work at the European Tour events out here at the now legendary "Evening with MLT" venue. They do a lovely Chicken Tikka Masala spread with a nice glass of Merlot and the perfect golf course in perfect condition in perfect weather. Normally I turn up and play like the perfect twonk everyone believes I am, but today I had that Caddy Shack Vicar round and won my first ever tournament. I miss Blighty, I miss the Real Ale, I miss going to the game with the Boysh, but then you realise I could have been paddling round a course in my thermals splatting a golf ball out of the mud. Sometimes (especially when you get your pay slip and look at the tax deductions) being an expat has it's magical moments Unless you're in Canada I guess. Was I the only one listening to the game yesterday hearing the name of the Leeds player and thinking of South Park and hence the Canadians?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/7437654/Portsmouth-fans-set-to-eye-new-owner-Rob-Lloyd-with-caution.html I mean c'mon fellas. If you change the names but keep everything else you have Al Fahim again Can see how it will all work though, find a nice nuclear waste dump out in the middle of nowhere for a new stadium blackmail the council & tax payers into helping with that, tell Sacha et al they have shares in the new mega development group and will share in the profi when Nottarf & the Railyard becomes "New Pompeii" or Uptown Pompey or something. The football club becomes the politics to make millions from property development. Well, at least they will be saved, but still as dis-enfranchised as ever

I came to this thread half asleep I thought this was referring to the Bewbs, and was sitting here thinking..... What all 30,794 of you? She'll go down well in Aus oops sorry

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/7437641/Portsmouth-on-brink-of-new-takeover.html Oh gooodie, another takeover with borrowed money. Works from home Hedge Fund backed It's not a business transaction Secret Millionaire. Do I sense an ego in there? an Al Fahim mark 2? Another Property Developer Good luck to him, hope he pulls it off and is a beneficiant owner. But a Mutual Fund will expect security and a return on investment and a Hedge Fund? And, can't resist it yep, Conference South :-)

There is a simple difference that came across very well. NC does his research by taking adivce, doing surveys and then makes a decision. Rupert of course always knew everything so always made every decision based on what he knew to be right. Allegedly
