  1. I've had a few but then again too few to mention... I did what I had to do and screwed you all without exemption and now, the end is near and so we face, the final curtain my friends I'll say it clear I'll state my case of which I'm certain We've been screwed Rupe's way.... What letter we on now?
  2. I wonder if any of our regulars on here who know any of the players how happy and confident they are playing in the revolutionary diamond formation, or whether they may actually feel more at ease in a 4 - 4 - fookin 2 formation?
  3. Did someone mention Rock Bottom? Mine's a Bullfrog cheers
  4. Hmm which would we prefer Wotton or Prutton Well he did clap the fans regularly But you know what? I'd prefer Robbie Savage to both And THAT's saying something... yikes
  5. Now I know this concept doesn't fit very well with the cartoon villain picture of Lowe that we hold on here, but (using the Sherlock Holmes' logic) maybe there is a reason he did not do that. Those reasons could be He was deluded into thinking he could blackmail Barclays by waving the admin vs ST revenue gamble at them He was deluded into thinking it would all be alright because of his inherent personality disorders He was working on something behind the scenes to solve the core problem I'm sure we could speculate at some others, (of course the pantomine villain ones are easy to make up and anything sensible just gets shouted down) But I keep coming back to the fact we are in a phoney war, there is a heck of a lot of crud out there to come flying in, not least of which will be the eventual facts and figures of the finances and who REALLY said they would do what and when to help the club. Right now I am taking a cynical stance on anything anybody says whether they be expensegate, donategate or admingate Survival is all that matters, and the reason I PRAY we get a clean break from the lot of them is that I honestly don't think we'll have heard the last of it if one or other stays close to the train set
  6. The problem is not about reactionary fan base. Let's face it have you ever seen the Riverside Stadium on a televised game? I don't think I've ever seen it full in what is supposed to be the hot-bed of English football. The problem is as many autocratic regimes in history have discovered, you can push, you can abuse, you can beat and you can starve people. Then, one day, they snap. The PROBLEM is that the autocrats ALWAYS react with SHOCK! If Rupert clearly understood the risk of alienating the fan base by his return then why oh why did he not appoint a politically neutral "proxy" to do his bidding..... It is HIS mistake and failure to understand the "fickle nature of fans". He was supposed to be the expert saviour - he didn't even APPEAR to give it a thought
  7. A good friend of mine once said Life is a sh1t sandwich. How good it is depends on the thickness of the bread. The years of attrition simply replaced the bread with a very thin stale Jacobs Cracker.
  8. Y'know, it's sort of like a looped Monty Python sketch isn't it.... no matter what is posted on what subject it always comes back to 19C and the same thing. Personally I'm starting to agree - Burn The Witch, Burn The Witch... 19C - The customers did not wish to purchase an inferior product. If you cannot understand that basic tenet of business acumen may I suggest that you google the name Gerald Ratner. The club did not make enough income in this season. You are correct The stay away fans are to blame because they are the primary source of income. You are correct However, as Ratner discovered, once your customer base realises they are being sold a crock of sh*t the outcome is guaranteed. Whether it was because the Ratner product kept falling apart or because the customers were told the truth and boycotted being ripped off is irrelevant. The effect was the same. Whether the stay aways were not going for politics or for the product, it matters not, they were not at the stadium because SLH/SFC and everything to do with it these past 5 years has been total crap.
  9. Toomer, there are a lot of answers out there. The problem is that too many of them may damage the work being done now to try and save the club, which IMHO in many ways is why we seem to only get snippets and sniping. With regards to timing, the only piece of the jigsaw that I heard tales about that could relate to it was that the deadline as we saw was a Thursday, but there was a meeting at the bank on the following Monday. IF I remember all the press releases on the rest it seems the board met Tuesday after that meeting and Fry was running around doing press conferences a day or two later. No idea how true that is, or even why the timelines and deadlines did not synchronise, but until our situation is resolved I get the very strong feeling as I've said previously that a lot of dirty laundry is out there and it won't be a pretty sight
  10. The flights are booked. 120 quid return from Abu Dhabi in fookin biz class - thanks to thier special offer on airmiles - now THAT's a result! We're the Home Team we're the Home team we're the Home Team over here! (And soon to be over THERE!)
  11. :smt090 :smt044 ](*,) Oh my that's made my day, funniest post of the lot
  12. Keeping positive of course, that would be a Pig and Dubai mentioned in the same context there....8-[ And unfortunately anyone financed by Dubai at the moment is likely to be a bigger fiscal basket case than that Football woning thing which existed in those old days we laugh so much about now.
  13. When we have all learned to love each other and our fellow fans I truly hope that next year we may turn over a new leaf by having our shirts sponsored in a carbon neutral manner by people who are saving the planet for our children I believe that we should have real ale on sale and some nice tables and chairs in a penned area outside the stadium so we may relax have a smoke and enjoy meeting with each other and looking back on those old crazy days and laughing I'm off to hug a tree, thanks for the idea GM But we cannot sing a Manc song
  14. Our new start next season will be with Either a proven PL level manager who has fallen off the map and is prepared to come in on a "last chance to get back to the big time" type deal of about 50k a year and bonuses OR an up and coming backroom guy from a bigger club who is now ready to take the next step, let me think? Oh yeah, someone like Pearson I honestly do NOT believe we should be looking at a "first job" ex player (ie they HAVE to have served an apprenticeship first somewhere behind the scenes) and we shouldn't be looking as a fast risen fast fallen not proven name. I just HOPE that IF we survive the people who make that decision start with a clean slate and ask some independent experts, not the first agent to come calling
  15. Well done Nigel. Good job
  16. perhaps a forum collection to pay for a farmer to lend us his tractor and muck spreader for an hour and just spray the car park at Staplewood Might get the message across
  17. Well, we sure showed them didn't we. We sure walked this league.
  18. It came as a shock to Saints fans to discover that far from having problems with their on-line translation software, they were actually reading exactly what JP had said in his English version of his interview Legendary analyst DP summed up the fans feelings "well at least we now know why we were so cr*p when he was here. This actually was a transcript of his instructions to the team before the televised Blackpool game."
  19. Good grief I just recognised this is word for word what I once received by a PM He also promised to contact me and buy me a beer.... You're not Tommac are you??? (BTW actually - a bloody good post and riposte, well done)
  20. OSM I am really getting fed up with all this spin, you KNOW that isn't the case. You should know by now that Eric & I spend every spare afternoon down at the airport carpark. We still have this crazy concept that by filling a container of Ferraris & BMW X5's every week and shipping them to bankers with nice pension plans at a discount that we can earn enough money to save the club. I'd NEVER leave MY Ferrari at the airport... I'd have sent that off in a container months before Still if JS is coming down here could he please bring the international number for Samaritans BEFORE we are televised against Forest. Eric & I won't make it through another night like that. John - give us a pm, we're actually in Dubai which I am sure you have read is a Reality-Free Zone. Make sure you give me a week in advance as I'd need to move Thaksin into Rupert's room for a couple of days. I have them both on an asylum sublet in a discrete location in a container at Sonapur Labour Camp at the moment. I have two rooms up there spare though - one is a bit smaller so it will do for Crouchie, not sure about MW's arrival date, think he still has a problem getting any plane other than Flybe..... Meanwhile Karaoke night at Rock Bottoms' tonight I always prefer a few Bullfrogs when the Bullsh** gets too much....
  21. about what these guys ahve done This is the problem - we don't KNOW yet what they have done. We have some supposition, and we have widely held opinions. Just imagine somebody posting - "Lowe had investment and Leon screwed it up" or "we kept going longer because Leon had said he would help out" (Total suposition before I get drowned out but as a BIG "for instance" not as an actual) we'd explode but then what if some proof came out..... they drop the crap and turnover new leaves lol - you didn't really think that through - Rupert turn over a new leaf  I agree that there is ONE over-riding issue at this time SURVIVAL. But sometimes, I feel as if we've been in a recurring groundhog day nightmare with all of this for years and the concept of surviving but staying in that twilight zone just depresses the hell out of me. What did WE as FANS ever do wrong in this or a previous life to deserve all of this CRAP?
  22. Sorry Frank, I disagree with you on this one. There is still a lot of laundry out there that needs washing. Do you honestly believe that if Leon walks in with his look at me grin I saved us that we will not have many more months of sniping attacks and damaging leaks? From my analysis Crouch doesn't have the funds to get the club out of admin AND fund the continuing losses next season. I seriously hope that if this "front running" bid of Salz does get control, for OUR sakes, he makes his "buddy" take a back seat. All In or All Out, as has been my position all along. This will never stop, the acrimony between the 3 of them will never rest and this club IF it survives will never be able to move on
  23. Think this is a victim of the phony war going on at the moment. Some people are telling everybody everything, but so far nothing has come out about our "final days" from inside the club. That could be because of politics, it could be because some of the information may damage the work of Mark Fry So far the only inside the club type leaks we are hearing are about the financial short term problem or the number of ticket sales. Wiser readers of the forum should understand that historically there are always more than one side to everything that has gone on at Saints and that we see a part of it as stories get told. There is more to come, rubbishing Lowe at the moment and also some of our posters is simple a symptom of the helplessness that we all feel. I think all of us deep down just want to RANT at the whole damned STUPID BLOODY MESS I know I do, but then we can only rant based on our view of one bit of history.
  24. Fair question, but there is also a fair answer - how do we know that they haven't put money in? The actual donate stuff has been done to death on other threads, there is a clear disagreement between whether it is better to let people know you have donated for "drumming up more support" purposes vs letting people know you have donated for "political reasons", that isn't worth going into again. Maybe they HAVE donated, maybe they ARE trying to help, and of course maybe they aren't. Although one comment from MLT was something to do with "alimony"...
  25. OK here are some facts about SISU bid http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/investing-and-markets/article.html?in_article_id=425927&in_page_id=3 There was also alleged to be some content in the bid that they required proxy rights over some of the shares rather than actually purchasing them. In simple terms they did not have enough money to buy the club and fund it's debts, speculation around it seems to focus that in fact the method of the bid was by rights issue without existing shareholders able to protect the value of their own stake. In simple terms it was under capitalised and did nothing for the shareholders. Of course, hindsighht is a wonderful thing and now today they'd probably have taken it, but then if I had known last weekend's lottery numbers I'd have won. Now as FC has stated that all 3 main shareholders signed the rejection letter. The bid was discussed by all 3 parties at a meeting in a hotel in Brockenhurst. This was one of two meetings, the other being held in Runnymede. At the time of the bid only one of the 3 partners had full access to the bid which was sent to the PLC Board (Jim Hone as stated on here). As a result only one of those shareholders held office in the PLC at that time and only one had access to the bid at that time. Guess who it was? Now this is not that relevant, but this was at the time when the political infighting started to cause wider issues and damage to the club, but that story is another day
