If our situation wasn't so heart breakingly avoidable, looking at the predictions on here of "respected" posters is a real hoot......

Too many consortiums for Mr Fry (and us)?
dubai_phil replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Did the Man City fans spit out the dummy when Thaksin came on board with all the dubious baggage and reputation that he is alleged to have? No of course not they looked at the money. In fact are the Man City fans rioting in the streets demanding that their Abu Dhabi owners back off because Dubai is part of the UAE and so they are indirectly responsible for all those horrific things being done to poor workers down here? No of course not, they look at the money. Will Mark Fry have any qualms about accepting a bid from Mr Goodwins RBS pension fund? Will he hell, he'll look at the money. And should we riot in the streets because said Mr Goodwin sits in the Directors Box on Saturday prior to starting a discussion, but after proving funds and signing an NDA.... We need to focus on where the money comes from anybody who thinks it is anything to do with the right people or nice people again will have made a serious error of judgement We don't like it - the law don't care - THAT's the problem with Admin. No choice - just about getting the money in -
Eureka! OMG - Lowe IS right - it isn't his fault.... It is OBVIOUSLY Glenn Hoddle's fault Of course - Glenn told him all about the wunderkind academy he was going to build in Spain and how it would make zillions by bringing back the Lost Boys. So Lowe built his whole cunning plan around doing that at SMS Phew, I can sleep easily at last and sit back and just keep saying it was Dalek 2003's fault Lowe came up with that stupid idea and screwed us.... No wonder he doesn't take the blame :smt119:smt086:confused::cool:

I agree, how can any one bidder be put off by one other bidder. there are 34 people who have supposed to put their interest on the table.... It seems far more likely to me from reading this that a bidder has discovered that they may have had a strategy that did not anticipate competition and am actually surprised that he isn't throwing the oh my god it's Rupert line out there - that would have been far more credible than the LLS line In any case right now as far as I can tell, all anyone has to do is to prove funds otherwise Mark Fry won't be taking anyone seriously. Wonder if that is more the case for FF's mate and that this is just a convenient excuse Personally all I worry about is that somebody out those 34 come up with that mysterious piece of paper and actually put a bid on the table, rather than worrying about in-fighting already -

lol I thought you had a real job... Ah ha UP in shock miscalculation that results in leak that he is in fact visiting the club's facilities with a view to mounting a rescue bid.... Don't try and deny it. it's all out in the open now.. :smt119 -
Did you steal that line from the Rupert book of excuses And it has to be said.... Unfortunately the game yesterday was played on grass... Obviously the answer is so simple - we train in our wonderful dome and the players just are not used to having rain upset their expensive hair-do's, and are not used to the way the ball gets blown about by the wind, and how the wet grass in the midlands made it much harder for them to jump as high as they are used to indoors Oh and where was SCW and his vision coach - obviously our players have not been taught how to use their eyes to see somebody running 50 + yards into empty space...... It would be funny if in some horrible ways I didn't think some of it is likely true... Good old JP's pre-season eh - all that wonderful time spentplaying tippy-tappy keepie uppie ball work and none on how to jump, mark or even be fit enough to run... :smt086

Saints fans in shock that the Administrator may charge massive fees for doing his job without anybody having the ability to question him..... Basically, as other threads have pointed out, of course Fry will be charging for his time, his role is to get the best deal for the creditors but also to ensure that his employers make a return - thanks to the mess of the economy, this is gravy train time for the liquidators. auctioneers, dodgy dealers and of course lawyers and accountants involved with sick companies. Sure it's "morally wrong" but hey - bit late now to start to complain about what happens to us when we are in Admin - get used to it peeps, it will get worse before it gets better, poor old Bournemouth got drained of 500k - did anyone REALLY think we would be paying less than that? Lowe was the devil incarnate is the view, but this could get very much worse before it is all over.... (and yes maybe it could get better...) (and yes maybe we'll stay up.....) (and yes maybe the team will have had enough kicks up the a**s to wake up and play proper football before the end of the season) (and yes maybe Lucy Pinder wants to have a night in at home with me.....)

I thought the numbers game on TMS had been banned...... However if the two at the front are going to the Forest game I'm booking me flight now Meanwhile - as per the other undertaker comment - just very simple - everyone wear black tshirts/tops/****tail dresses, It will be our funeral, Of course there is always the Reversed Robin Hood (ie Dennis Moore of Monty Python fame) theme being Nottingham and all that - reversed for the fans appeal for cash at the moment - steal from the poor to give to the rich....

Utter garbage. It was an embarrassment to sit in the pub. Smith at least looked like he could play football but had no chance when they sussed out he was left footed playing on the right Only positive, karaoke night at Rock Bottomw was good entertainment value I pity anyone who buys us as this football club is more dead than a Norwegian Blue For the first time in my life I hope we go bust so I never have to watch that again - anyone watch the Reading Sheff U game after? they both seemed to have twice the number of players on the pitch than we did Absolutely awful

Derry and others - your concept of doing this as an insurance plan is excellent and well done. 19C makes a valid point. However the days of politics have now passed while we are in "The Phoney War" Many have valid reasons not to make any form of pledge, be it a political stand, a personal finance stand or their ex wife's divorce lawyer being a c**k. You guys are stars but may I also honestly say that I hope that your work is a total waste of time for anything other than insurance purposes and that a successful conclusion is reached before we need to step up and do this. If it DOES come down to extinction avoidance then hopefully you will have bought a few more days of time for the many wise and connected people on here to pull in any favours or advice they can. But guys - in the name of all we hold sacred with our club - avoid politics and political animals!
-
Ah ha well you guys will discover that is all but true this weekend.... Yep Dr Who takes a ride on a London Bus this weekend in his Easter Special and it lands up on the planet of the dead where the evil fly people try and zap him.... (Which doesn't really even a little bit look like the desert just outside of Dubai...) What's more the bus which is on a planet that looks like the moon also suffers a nasty crash on the way There - hope that's ITK enough so obviously Bus on the moon - BINGO there is the confirmation! This is a dead cert done deal then, but how on earth we gonna eat Fajitas while standing on the concourse?

NDA's... Also there are 35 bidders, that would mean only 1 can (hopefully) win. If any of them are professional businessmen, they would not like to be subject to the media scrutiny that publicity would bring and forever be referred to as having been a FAILURE.. as in Paul Allen failed in his attempt to buy Saints and that has put doubt in his ability to be a rich person for ever....... Oh and Windows - I guess that you will find that the Admins had a lot of work to do to get all the facts and figures together to actually be able to tell the possible bidders who owed what to whom. -
No I think I got it right.....
-
Actually I think we need MORE stickies, stickies are good, stickies rule One shouild actually be created by the mods where "Sensible Information" gets posted. eg the specific details posted by Accountants/lawyers etc about how they understand the process of Admin and bidding gets put in one place (so poor old Clapham and some of our fund managers don't have to keep on re-typing the same thing over and over)

Thanks Wes Seems that the forum has developed a new "arrgh word" alongside tyre kickers and ITK. Obviously majority now means you stop reading and assume it is a political post:rolleyes: Chris - I was making the simple point that there are many reasons why people have not been going to SMS this season. And also following on a previous post that people could in fact correlate declines in attendance PRE Lowe/Quisiling/Crunch days when we were at the Dell I certainly was NOT saying that the majority were staying away for politics = in fact I was "having a small dig" at NineteenCanteen because he has started to make some good and valid points but still unfortunately leaves room for others to attack him and turn good debates into arguments, simply because he doesn't quite finish his point off!

LMFAO On a lighter note... Just watched (again) 2001 A Space Odessey on local free to air Sat channel...... You remember that whole bit where Dave Bowman goes in and disconnects HAL... well it sure reminded me of Rupe's Dave I know you're upset at the moment I still have great confidence in the mission I can assure you that I feel fine now and there will be no more problems I still believe I can be of great help.... Sad to say I smirked in a whole new way at that legendary movie, all I need now is to hear Rupe's singing Daisy and I will crack up totally -
My sources say it's now a nailed on dead cert. Apparently Gerrard is now claiming an injury which is a cover story for him to have more time to get his meetings in and sort the deal out Amazing eh?! My sources have never let me down before. Mainly because it was the only time I ever had a ****stani taxi driver here who was a football fan and could almost speak English, but I reckon it has legs yet
-
Hate to point this out but... We tried that, it didn't work either. At least this way we get to drink beer and talk to saints fans face to face instead of by keyboard. Don't worry, we got the local version of Samaritans on standby this time, maybe that will work

Judging by the way that suit jacket hangs, I am seriously concerned that he is wearing a short sleeved work shirt underneath it. Think we all know where THAT sort of sartorial disaster leads
-
Did Iwelemo write us a new letter yet? Out of bottom 3 tomorrow - lol we're on TV & EoA & I are watching in the pub - 100% suicide watch on that mix so far this season

Too many consortiums for Mr Fry (and us)?
dubai_phil replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Of course... Hence my use of IF and FOR EXAMPLE In reality my point is that in these situations our own assumptions, egos, positions and beliefs can close our eyes to what others would call the bleedin obvious. Exactly the same can happen to a consortium bidding (or proposing to) IF a consortium views matters in this light, then with so many bidders they MAY not get away with a bit just for some juicy pieces. Obviously IF there are enough diverse bids that add up to more than the bids for the whole then leaving the club to somebody else is feasible, but IF you think it is a ripper of a deal then you have to join in the whole darned poker game If you prepare for the unexpected you have a better chance of winning - and if one or more bidders have the good of the club at heart taking on everything then we need them to win don't we? -
mods It looks like somebody must have hacked Alpine's account - he is starting the "LoweCDAJFU" party.....

Too many consortiums for Mr Fry (and us)?
dubai_phil replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Obviously But at the same time if you go through the list of tangible assets we have in the old annual report, then in theory IF somebody knew - for example - that with their "political contacts" they were a nailed on certainty to get planning permission.... So thenthey know they could build 400 properties on Jacksons Farm in say 4 years time for 20mil profit Say 80 on Staplewood for 5 mil profit, Could sell season tickets for say 3mil, Sell this academy lodge for a mil Run a couple of concerts and make a mil And then of course sell ALL the players in the summer for say 4 mil while "pretending" to worry about the football club Oh and we'll moan but they'll have sold the Football Club to Leon for a quid along with the academy players they couldn't sell and will be renting the stadium to him at 100k a match Be careful what we wish for. This is now about making money, not about happy customers and quality catering On this basis paying 8mil to the administrator is a bargain, but we are royally screwed
