Some grim defending by Derby today, they don't deserve anything. Quite glad they are going down because I'm still annoyed about that play off semi final.

Has been great for us during his time at the club and up until recently has always put in a shift while being a consistent, committed player we could rely on. Despite this he seemed rather unappreciated by the fans and never had his name sung. It's a slightly sad end to his career here and I wish him well at his next club.

There's certainly a lot of kids from around Bristol in the academy.

Saints certainly do look at Tyro, my son's friend was signed at the beginning of last season from Sholing U14's. Saying that other clubs like Chelsea take a more scattergun approach, around the same time they invited a load of kids at that age up to Cobham for 6 weeks to look at them, think they only took 1 though and he's now left for Bournemouth. I haven't known of Saints to go for that mass approach at older ages as they tend to look more extensively at 7-9 age group. There were always scouts hanging around during mini soccer times and that's when most of them got picked up. There's still some decent local players at what is now U15, believe me I've probably seen all of them play at some point in the last few years in Tyro, JPL or for district schoolboys. There's probably 2 or 3 who I am surprised aren't in an academy. Going back to the content from the fans forum it sounded like some good information came from it, and definitely interesting comments about investment.

This is where it's so unfair on defenders and keepers. Make one mistake and you get pelters yet a striker could swan around doing fuck all for 89 minutes and then score with his arse and some people are happy. Vestergaard miscontrolled the ball, made a perfectly decent and legitimate tackle yet he's being called out for it?

Chelsea have been defensively excellent tonight. Superbly organised and have worked so hard to deny Real Madrid space. Thoroughly deserved the win. Does the 2 English teams in the final effect the league place if they both finish top 4?

The first one was very good, the second one relatively easy. He's a great keeper though. Such good movement and positioning.

In this case (which I agree with) that Burnley have at least 5 if not 6 better first team players than Saints, would it mean Ralph has done a better job than Dyche this season if we finish above them?

No problem. Pity I couldn't ask him more. He came to watch my son play but he dislocated his finger in the second half and I had to take him to the walk in center!

Spoke to my son's friend who plays for U15's and U16's this morning. He said their age groups are strong, the 16's are pretty decent but have spent a lot of time playing in the U18's this season which has meant some kids are being pushed around different years below to cover them. Despite that results have been alright below the U18's. He said to watch out for midfielder Kami Doyle, he's 15 but has been playing some games for the U18's and scored in a 3-2 defeat against West Ham yesterday. Apparently he's incredible and already has some sort of pro contract.

He's not done enough in my opinion. We're obviously strapped for cash and could probably find someone else who would have a more positive effect on the team for less. Would imagine his wages are reasonably high too.
