  1. He did score some crucial goals and wasn't always terrible, but by the end he was a waste of a shirt and that performance at Fulham was a disgrace.
  2. Carillo was terrible but at least he tried. I'd rather that than Austin wandering around pointing to space he wants someone else to cover because he was too lazy to do it himself.
  3. Bought these new records in the last 2 weeks. Flat Worms - Antarctica Wilma Archer - A Western Circula Stephen Malkmus - Traditional Techniques Daniel Avery & Alessandro Cortini - An Illusion of Time Vanishing Twin - The Age of Immunology (bit late on this one, it came out last year) Talk Show - These People EP Pigsx7 - Viscerals
  4. They have been hit pretty hard but their figures include all deaths in care homes whereas a lot of other countries do not. This has meant their deaths per X number of population is a lot higher.

103 fines in Hampshire over a period of 17 days. So about 6 a day which isn't really very many in a county with a population of around 1.8 million. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/18383163.amp/

The way each force police this will be determined by advice from their Chief. I can only say that for Hampshire it's being very much done in an advisory way. I'm not aware of there being any particular problems relating to large gatherings or a disproportionate number of fines. In other news my brother in law's hospital was the one just covered by the programme on C4. They seem to have things under control there which is good to see. As long as people keep being sensible and carry on socially distancing the number of available beds will stay higher than demand.
  7. I went to a cup game away at Gillingham when David Speedie put in such a terrible performance it made Austin away at Fulham look positively world class.

Interesting info about what happened when a company offered to make ventilators. Shocking if true.
  9. Macron with some very honest statements today. Admitting they have made mistakes in being too slow to get the right PPE. France lockdown runs to 11th May at which point schools gradually go back. No major cultural events until at least July.
  10. Beaten to it.
  11. Was that the season he scored 2 at Derby in the first match? Didn't he also score a brace right at the end of the season? I seem to recall he went a long time without a goal.
  12. It's not an answer, just an observation. Of course it doesn't make it better. It's mostly terrible, but the cupboard is bare. Who else should be in it instead?
  13. I don't really like any of the parties, but there's also a real lack of decent, trustworthy politicians in the actual cabinet too. Far too many people who are in it for selfish reasons rather than actually working for the better of the country or their constituents.
  14. Fabrice Fernandes?
  15. Apparently 10 Downing Street is about 4 minutes walk from St Thomas's. But he's gone an hour drive to Chequers instead.
  16. Although that didn't gain us any points it's still worth mentioning because of the few amount of times we have come from behind.
  17. Spurs at home in the cup this season too with Boufal's late equaliser.

Interesting thread. There's also this to consider: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/12/revealed-value-of-uk-pandemic-stockpile-fell-by-40-in-six-years

Not sure what happened with the post above. But they will go and close it down if someone tells them.

    They definitely will if so
  21. It's perfect possible to call out the government for perceived mistakes without it being laced with political point scoring. I'd be doing exactly the same whoever was in charge. As for moaning if the lockdown had started earlier, I doubt I would have been. We're talking a week or so earlier, not a month. People were discussing a possible suspension of the Premier League the weekend we played Newcastle but it wasn't until nearly 2 weeks later on 20th March when the pubs shut. That was obviously the period when the virus began to spread more widely and large scale gatherings were still taking place. It's impossible to know how many less lives would have been lost if it had been done then, but it has to be a significant number.
  22. It will all come out in time. I can't believe that anyone would think that delaying lockdown and not having enough equipment for NHS staff would do anything other than result in a huge number of cases, and therefore more deaths. Countries who went in early with more stringent measures have far less cases and deaths.
  23. Taking into account the fact that his government fannied around for ages, not shutting the country down despite warnings from around the world and massively failed to provide NHS staff with the correct equipment to deal with the virus it doesn't take much of leap to suggest some of the deaths lay at the door of these decisions.
  24. They may have contacted a virus outside of the workplace which has hundreds of infected patients in it whilst the necessary PPE was in criminally short supply? Bit of a stretch that one.
  25. That has to be right.
