White Lines is written by the guy who did Money Heist. Agree with Shurlock about the NZ actor in The Boys and his dodgy accent. No need for that.

Should be done on ppg for away matches only. No one gains an advantage for being at home and we finish significantly higher in the league. Sorted.

Our sons go to Hamble Primary and Secondary. Both schools have been amazing throughout this. The youngest goes in when my other half has to go to teach at her school a couple of days a week. They head contacted key worker parents before the Easter holidays saying they would be open every day and none of the teachers had even discussed the fact the school should be closed. Hamble secondary sent a message the other day stating they they are looking at the guidelines for Year 10's going back and that they understand people might be worried. They stated they would not ask any teacher with underlying health conditions to return to work and also that if any parents do not want to send their child in there would be no punishment in the way of fines for non attendance. Luckily, because of the good weather, the kids are spending the majority of their days outside. I imagine this would continue for those schools fortunate enough to have fields to accommodate it when more children return. It's understandable that some teachers may have reservations about returning though, and they are quite right to ask for risk assessments to be put in place. If they can be satisfied then there's no reason for them not to go back with reduced class sizes.

Quite enjoying The Boys on Amazon, a different twist on normal superhero shows. Brassic on Sky 1 is funny. What We Do In The Shadows is coming back soon which is good news because anything with Matt Berry is top of my list. Money Heist on Netflix is great. Weirdly it features Neymar in a cameo playing a monk.

If a cleaner can carry out their work while socially distancing then they are entitled to under government rules because that is their place of employment. It's also important to get people like them back to work and getting paid. Most cleaners also operate in empty houses. To be fair you'd be pretty lazy if you were working from home or furloughed and still wanted to pay a cleaner! Parents is a tricky one. I'm guessing most parents of posters on here will be over 70 and therefore vulnerable. I wouldn't want to take the virus asymptomatically into their house but I could meet them individually outside where the risk is less if they were happy to do so. If people stick to the guidance I'm sure it won't be that long until we are allowed to visit them.

I couldn't stand Gordon Strachan and was quite annoyed when he became Saints manager. Turned out alright in the end though. I know a fair few Tory voters who think Boris is a bit of a buffoon. They'll still vote for him though. If your friends don't agree with Starmer or the direction he takes the party they can either carry on voting Labour because to them it's a better alternative to the Tories, or they can support the SWP.
-
Whatever people think about Starmer the important fact remains that his experience, knowledge and intelligence will be vital in holding the Government to account in a far more pertinent and useful way than Corbyn ever could. It's vital to have a strong opposition whether you agree with them or not. Starmer's strength will be in asking the right questions and holding the Government to account. The Tories knew they could pretty much ignore Corbyn because after his initial surge in popularity he quickly became an irrelevance to the wider public and an inconvenience to the Labour party who wasted years floundering under his leadership. Things are different now and I'm looking forward to a stronger opposition leader taking the Government on.

Can't wait until he gets sent off in his first game for a reckless slide tackle and people start referring to him as Disasteri.

I like cycling but there's too many idiots on the road driving selfishly. The roads are also very narrow in certain places with no chance of adding cycle lanes. Add in the number of potholes and a long distance rush hour commute by bike does not appeal. Two roads that need looking at to encourage more people in Southampton: Portsmouth Road. Too narrow to add cycle lanes but is a main connecting road between the east of the city and the main centre. Thomas Lewis Way is a decent example of an easy fix. There's enough room to incorporate cycle lanes with bollards to keep people safe. There's been a few cyclists killed there over the years despite the wide road. Some good work has been done, especially from the West of the city alongside the docks. But if you really want people to commute by bike more main roads need to be made safe. Most people are happy to pootle around their local area on a bike, this doesn't mean they are going to suddenly commute 5 or 10 miles to work without it being made safer.

Costco is perfect for lockdown. Go once every few weeks, buy up big, then just the odd top up from co-op. I notice they've given up showing the global deaths comparison chart during the daily briefing. Is it a) because it makes us look bad, or b) it doesn't really change much so is a bit pointless?

Chris Whitty said in the press conference that up to 10% of people in London may have the antibodies but this drops to around 4% elsewhere. So the 6 million figure mentioned above seems somewhat high.

There's parts of Northumberland I quite fancy walking around so I may as well crack on.
-
Today there were loads of families together in there. The policy is one guest, so if mum and dad are both members they can bring a guest each and the kids too. Hence the fact there were groups of 5 and 6 wandering around together.

I wonder if Wes is as condescending in real life or if he just saves it for this forum?

Fines now start at £100 and can be doubled after each offence up to a maximum of £3600.
-
You can send one person shopping and then all go for a picnic. I don't see how taking 5 people to Costco including grandparents who looked about 80 can be considered a good idea at all. Johnson had a bit of a mare in the Commons earlier. Floundering over words, ignoring the perfectly reasonable questions Keir Starmer asked.
-
People queuing for 2 hours to go to the tip. Families of 3 generations treating an essential shopping trip like a group outing when I was in Costco earlier. Hoards of kids out on their bikes together and sat around in parks. What are people like?
-
These things always end up being a bit silly, and are just a bit of fun however I guess it's not really that easy to vote for someone you've never seen play. I know from the stats and what I've heard that Ron Davies was a superb striker but it's impossible for me to properly know because he stopped playing before I was born and there's not a lot of match footage to go on. A lot of people voting might were probably too young to remember Alan Shearer playing live, let alone for Saints. I saw some nipper put up his best XI and there were probably only 3 players in it that he'd ever seen. How could he truly judge whether Mark Dennis is our best LB? He's basically just guessing.

Years R, 1 and 6 isn't it? As the parent or a year 6 child I hope this means they get to spend a load of transition days at secondary school so they can meet a lot of the teachers and learn where all the classrooms are etc. This will really help them for September.
-
Yeah, he did. People can now meet up with one other person outside if maintaining social distancing rules. This will definitely help those who live by themselves and don't go to work.
-
You can also play sport in the park with your own family. Luckily mine are all terrible at cricket so I'm going to enjoy smashing their bowling to the 4 corners of Hamble Rec.

Interesting interview here: https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2020/may/10/nathan-redmond-difficult-tiktok-video-lost-1-0-football

Wandering around a mask factory today while not wearing a mask. Is social distancing a thing in the US? Him and his staff don't seem to be doing much of it judging by the videos I've seen.

It was Friday 20th March when the Government said pubs would close that day. It was about 5 days before that they started softly advising people not to go out.

It's gone right downhill recently and got a terrible Ofsted report in December. Quite a few parents took their kids out the school.
