  1. Reading have a huge amount of space to expand in comparison to us. Quite tight for land at the Kingsland given you've got to have a certain width of exit ramp for fire regs and its hemmed in by the railway. Easier to lose the two car parks and expand the ends. Quite a challenge to extend the Itchen due to the slope and proximity to the road.
  2. Promotion Saturday evening, Champions the following week. Reading will lose the Brum FACT
  3. Promoted by 10pm. Believe
  4. We will be fine. Brighton have to beat Wham in order to have any chance of playoffs and they will. This is Saints, it's never easy. If we win our last three we will go up as champions, Reading are due a wobble. We created a load of chances, just need to start taking them.
  5. Ah a plastic JCL glory hunter Ta for having a word
  6. Not worth getting worked up over, and I figured I didn't have much chance of finding who had done it. No harm done and ultimately I assume he was a Saints fan and therefore on the same side. At least it wasn't a dart or a battery...
  7. I assume the former but like I say, accuracy of Torres
  8. To the knob who coined me in Block 42 after the match: a) you throw like a girl b) you have the accuracy of Torres c) I'm not a skate so it's not like I need the money
  9. Lived in Nottingham for a few years, the only Derby there is Derby. Forest and County play each other so infrequently and there is a common bond between them (specifically both being monumental financial ****-ups) so they don't see each other as rivals. I've known a few fans who occasionally go to watch the other club if there's a long gap between home games. Nottingham is also very insular so has a bit of an us against the world attitude.
  10. Hcdajfu
  11. He was on Radio 4 this morning around 7.25am, good interview going in to his background and motivation. Worth a listen on iPlayer.
  12. I wonder if it's institutional racism. Over the last ten years I would say the whipping boys have been... Guly BWP McGoldrick Kenywne Jones Fuller McCann Wooton Fair share of black players in there. Antonio got a fair bit last year before winning us over. Admittedlly this is balanced out somewhat by Theo, Oxo, Deano, and the Wallaces but I do wonder if certain sections of the crowd are quick to get on the backs of black players.
  13. Cheers both. Now to play the PAC code game with T-Mob
  14. How do you know they were a Sotonian?
  15. Its small man syndrome, they bought an Audi rather than a Beemer and feel inadequate as a result. Recently had a full-on road rage incident with a white Audi on the Salisbury to Ringwood road (the sort of road Ice Road Truckers would think twice about driving like a **** on). I was doing a sensible speed considering it was a bit foggy, he went flying past me overtaking on double whites and then brake-tested me to the point I barely avoided him by driving up the grass verge. Look of utter rage in his eyes, no idea why.
  16. Anyone here with Three for their mobile contract? What's the coverage like around Southampton (I work near West Quay/Ikea)? Thinking of moving to them from T-Mobile, coverage map says coverage is good but no point in saving a tenner a month if I get no signal. Fast 3G required as I use my phone for tethering.
  17. We will be fine. Played well yesterday, created a load of chances and Ashdown had a blinder. On another day we could easily have been 3-1 at halftime. The others will slip up. If we win tomorrow we will be top with 4 games left. If we win Friday we will be 3 points clear at the top with three games left.
  18. Blimey, football in sensible suggestion shock. Houllier is right about the number of players with potential who we lose because of lack of opportunities after their scholarships.
  19. Good to see local lad James Foad make the team for the men's eight at the World Cup. Very likely to be in the team for the Olympics now. Grew up in Sholing, used to do his rowing from the club under the Itchen Bridge.
  20. I was at WPBS in the mid 80s and it was certainly a deterrent, as was the slipper in middle school. There was a definite fear although getting caned was also a badge of honour. Only got caned once, it ****ing hurt, and it did make me think about my behaviour. A mate got rulered by the woodwork teacher but then he had just lobbed a chisel at someone. Favourite of the games masters was to get you to bend over, touch your toes, and either boot you between the legs or hook you with a hockey stick. But then it was a boys school I suppose...
  21. Bloody hell!
  22. On ITV Player (ITV4). Saints vs Man City, worth a watch. Patrick kits, no sponsors, million miles an hour play, crunching tackles, Shilts doing a Banks, and Stevie Moran. Starts about 20 mins in, main game.
  23. Buy a sports car or have an affair
  24. So hang on a mo, we're taking approximately half of what that lot down the road get for a crunch home game?
