Cheers Frank C, sorry my posts were based on a bit of a pre-judgement. Onwards and upwards. -

I can't see how I misinterpreted your post, you stated the good thing about Lowe is that you can see a clear strategy. It is my opinion that in his first tenure he had no long term strategy at all and this is why we eventually went down. He employed methods that every club uses to maximise it potential, he wasn't enacting some revolutionary approach that transformed the fortunes of the club. He took over an average run club and continued to manage it in an average manner. He devised on a new way of running our club towards the end of his last tenure and he didn't enact it fully (for what ever reason I don’t know) but he’s now back and he is trying to do it now. I am all for a club trying something different but as a part of an established approach not wholesale like he is doing now. His clear strategy this tenure is failing and will fail. He was no good for this club before and he still isn't, the good thing for you guys is that Wilde and Crouch have had mini tenures and this just conveniently clouds the whole issue for you. You never talk about Lowe in isolation but always in reflection of the follow on tenures. You fail to understand that Lowe is not the saviour of our football club, he is a ball and chain around our necks slowly pulling us down. The problem I have is you talk fluff, there is no substance to your long posts, you come across a little bit 'this is how it is and if only everybody else had the insight I have, they would realise it'. You post your latest thought on the subject, which then gets followed up by the usual faces saying 'this sums it up for me', when you have not put together a reasonable argument, its just rhetoric posted as fact. The level of your argument to someone questioning Lowes approach is 'do you want to do a Risdale', is that becasue there only a rizla thickness of difference between them. I don't think so. -

More fluff from Lowe's biggest apologist. You questioned Crouch and Wilde because you are a Lowe Luvvie, not out of the interests of the governance of Southampton FC. The biggest problem with Lowe before was his lack of strategy, he just lurched from one set of events to another reacting along the way. There was never long term thinking, 'youth, sports science and selling to fund' is what all smaller clubs have to to do. Its like saying selling tickets to watch the Saints was part of Lowes strategy. Wilde had a strategy, Crouch never had time to enact his. The Monster Raving Loony Party has a strategy doesn't mean they are fit to run the country, but put that next to Lowes strategy this time round they look like progressive political thinkers. Back to the drawing board FC, no matter how hard you try you wont rewrite history. Lowe was and is bad news for this club. -
Time for some good old fashioned name dropping

Ok but you can't be chairman as well.

Technically, but even the clubs don't see it that way anymore, MK Dons gave up the silverware, although not to AFC but to Merton Council. Only a matter of time before its in the throphy cabinet at AFC.
-
Right men his names Rupert Lowe, aka Kay Hunt. He's tearing St Mary's apart, so let's get in there and nail the bastard, be careful he fights dirty.
-
I don't agree at all we were the same Southampton in a bigger better ground that would better support a prem club. How did this supposed 'rise in expectation' manifest itself, because it past me by.
-
AFC Southampton. It would just result in two small clubs. I would be up for it though if Lowe bought us after admin.
-
We should have been invited into the football league earlier.

what is lowe getting out of being here?

I read it and its utter crap, FC talks about Lowes inivations but fails to mention any, talks of recent success but what about the early 80's we were in the top flight before Lowe came along (and out of it when he left). He claims Lowe gets nothing but abuse, on here yes, but generally the Saints fans have been restrained, I could go on. It's a long apologist rant without any substance and about as balanced as a drunk with an inner ear problem. Sorry but it adds nothing to the debate. -
Totally, I don't look at the OS anymore.

I think the law change was that you could not vacate your ground until you had concrete plans for a new ground. The Brighton chairman told the FA that they had plans to build a new ground in Patcham so the FA sanctioned a temporay move to Gillingham (or it may have been Charlton for the first season). However Brighton council had turned down plans for the ground at Patcham (I assume its Waterhall) weeks before hand, it was all part of Archers plan to get Brighton out of their ground. Its been tried elsewhere since, Wrexham and York spring to mind but directors have not succeeded for reason I not aware of/can't remember. This won't help us if we go into administration but it does help stop asset strippers targeting football clubs, especially the small debt laden city centre based clubs. You are right though the locals do use the shop at the Goldstone, I know my mates (Brighton fans) still don't shop there and even drove to Purley Way to go to Toys R Us but there was no mass boycott. As you probably know Brighton have just dug the first turf at Falmer, not a minute too late as their crowds are well down and people over there are completely fed up with Withdean

Well you might as well call every sofa shop, car showroom and home seller arrogant then. All I go on is the comparable situations, every club that has gone bust of our size and most smaller clubs as well have been sold and continued. Yes we are in a down turn in the economy but that does not mean will we definitely wont be sold. Arrogance has nothing to do with it. Newport County, Aldershot and Maidstone are the only clubs (I know of) that have gone bust and had to start again, what happened to the grounds I don't know.
-
What club of our size that has gone to administration hasn't been bought. edit of our size
-
The Brighton chairman Bill Archer, a northerner created the situation so he could take possession of the ground. He then sold it to Kingfisher developements (?) for nearly three times the debt secured on it. Who part own Kingfisher, oh yes the one and only Bill Archer. The FA changed the rules on selling grounds after the Brighton con. Lets look at all the other admins, not one clubs ground has been sold under them and I expect and hope that the same will happen at Southampton.

Brightons old sponser is available, Skint.

Its Mr Averages chance to play at being a business man. I think he believes he is ploughing a different furow, that one day will become the standard for provincial clubs. He's back this time to enact his plans undiluted, we are his experiment. I only hope we fully recover in my lifetime. -
Who knows, who knows if the next player we bring in will score or whether DMG scores again. But I believe going on his ability that an up for it Saga should do well in this division given the support.
-
Its a no brainer, play maker returns to club that cant score. If we don't play him we can only assume that Lowe is bent on getting rid of every high earner at the club in spite of every thing else and crossing his fingers that we don't drop. Where a more intelligent approach would be to cut the cost and maximise our playing potential, the clever chairman would look to find the optimum postion between the two. Typical Mr Average Businessman Lowe he can only follow one objective at a time. Don't defend him by claiming it will be Barclays decision because even if they have influence to that degree there is a bloody good business case to keep Saga. £150,000 / 10 home game / £20 a game = 750 more punters a game. Start winning we will **** that.

That piece could have been written by many on here, sums it up completly for me. I've enjoyed the media coverage over the last few days, it makes me pine for the premiership days. If this is the start of some positive anti-lowe coverage then the Man Utd game could possible be the most important game of our season. It will be such a shame if Lowe takes us down a season before we reach our 50th year, thats half a century folks, in the top two divisions. Think about it and you start to see how far we have fallen and yet there are still people on here who think its everybody elses fault but Lowes and there are still people on here who think only Lowe can save us. This article says is all, ****in hell I'm so sadden and angry by the whole situation.
