  1. Bruce Parker, the old South Today presenter offered me his autograph once. The only problem was, I hadn't asked for it.
  2. Breach of contract
  3. "SPORT BILD learned: Because Manchester Ángel Di María and Atlético Madrid Antoine Griezmann are so expensive, the Bayern bosses videos of Sadio Mané from Southampton were put together. Mané is worth according transfermarkt.de 14 million, however, is considered as not simple character" They're going to be in for a surprise if they think Mane will be a cheap option. There is no way he will go for £11m
  4. Saints to make sensational swoop for Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon to replace injured Fraser Forster as Juventus hunt for younger replacement.
  5. I've just bought a nine year old Honda CRV diesel . Admittedly its very low miles but the only thing which has gone wrong with it in all that time (apart from consumables likes brakes and tyres) is a faulty ECU.
  6. 'When Thursday and Sunday comes' isn't as good as a book title.
  7. Worries me too. We tailed off last season because we didnt have enough strength in depth to give players a rest. Will be worse this time. Worth it though.
  8. Even Aston Villa being sold for between £150m-£200m. I know its a big club etc but they've done little for years - and need big money spent.
  9. FIFA the blockbuster vanity film. Four years in the making at a cost of £17m - it took a whopping £397 on its first weekend on release. Dont know whether to or http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-33050289
  10. Ive never used this free advice service, but ACAS are respected and it might be helpful. http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=4489
  11. Maybe it was a fruit salad.
  12. A Moose's beaver. You dont see that every day.
  13. Isnt that Las Vegas out of the window? hmm choices - drinking and gambling and other things in Vegas or stuck inside in beige hell with tufty chunks.
  14. The thing with football managers is its as much about the players believing in you as about actual ability. Attracting good players, retaining them and getting your existing players to buy into your methods is most of the job - and thats far far easier if you are an ex Argentine international than an ex lower leagues goalie. I think Adkins was the better manager whilst Pochettino had the 'pull', Koeman is better than either because he seems to have both. I'd be delighted if Adkins gets Sheffield United to the PL and keeps them there - more than possible imo.
  15. Godforsaken
  16. Depends whether it was planned dodgy or accidental dodgy
  17. Could be joint bid - like Spain / Portugal.
  18. Imagine if you sold your vote for a cuckoo clock and some Bavarian ham, and then found out everybody else had got £1m too!
  19. The price seems to have the decimal point three places too far to the right.
  20. Thats exactly why they do it - it puts additional pressure on the selling club. Also it avoids the buying club being held to ransom on wages.
  21. Exactly, good luck to him. Totally different situation to Lovren
  22. I've been trying to force myself to say "Would you like?" instead of "do you want?" for decades. Still haven't managed it consistently. I blame Weston.
  23. We clearly do have the facilities in this country - at least 30 stadia capable of holding 25,000 people plus and a huge number of hotels and training grounds. The fact that the FA 2018 bid included improvements to those existing facilities is irrelevant.
  24. Zoe Ball held the door open for me in a shop in Brighton - and gave me a huge grin when I clocked who she was. I used to work a bit with David Icke at the BBC and he drove the producer mad because he never washed his hair, and refused to travel or eat with the rest of the crew.
  25. Agree, shades of grey. One of the corrupt payments was by South Africa to notionally pay for grass roots community football activity in the COCAF area. England's 2018 bid offered grassroots development work in a number of countries worldwide. The difference is that the South African support was money that went to accounts controlled by Jack Warner, while the England offer was for delivered programmes - so less chance for fraud.
