  4. That ones seems a bit overripe.
  5. I love pineapple
  6. No, exploring business expansion opportunities I hear.
  7. Interesting article here, ignore who it is by. You could argue that the billions spent on Trident would be better used on conventional forces. http://www.newstatesman.com/voices/2013/04/america-tells-britain-pick-replace-trident-or-be-real-military-partner
  8. No but its free. I'm surprised Bearsy isn't all over it.
  9. Yes but if we continue to strengthen sensibly in 2-3 years time we'll have a track record of being, say, a regularly top 10 club and 1) wont always have to be the club offering the most money and 2) will have a wider field to choose from.
  10. Glasgow is clever at what he does, pointless though that is. 110 is just pointless, no craft or guile.
  11. Moron:facepalm:
  12. Me too. The difference in most of the names you listed was that we were the big club when we signed them, we had the kudos. None of those players were effectively shotgunned into signing for Saints. I was all for signing boruc and for playing him. Couldnt understand why he didnt get a game and then was in disgrace. Players who, for example have only played in Brazil and dont speak English are always going to be a higher risk. Not to say they wont make it, but a risk, especially if you are lashing out £20m. Its not only about attracting talent, its also about ensuring, as much as possible, that the talent you attract really wants to be here and will replicate their previous success at Saints. Sign a couple of £13-20m duds and all of a sudden the future wont look so bright.
  13. I accept his name may open the door to an initial conversation, even if just out of politeness. I just think trying to leap from newly promoted team to CL challengers in one stroke is a very high risk strategy. I'd rather we went the consolidation and gradual enhancement route.
  14. What MoPo factor? the one that has led to, so far, all targets who are either his countrymen or players he used to manage turning him down?
  15. The only reason we are in with a chance is that even though he doesn't want to come here, his club are effectively kicking him out and he has to choose (probably) between the frozen wastes of Russia for more cash or Saints. Why haven't more clubs come in? because of his 'difficult' reputation. Thats not a criticism of Saints -its just recognising that even if we have the money we don't have the pulling power of other clubs. If we are to get real top notch talent there is going to be a reason the top clubs aren't in the running - young and lacking experience, unproven in Europe, personality issues etc.
  16. Like others have said the problem isnt so much lack of venues or stuff going on, its the lack of a buzzy centre where you can walk from good bar, to theatre to dinner in an area full of other people out and about doing there own thing. Getting in a car to go to one place and then driving somewhere else or going home isnt the same and its what Southampton lacks compared with Bournemouth, Brighton etc.
  17. There was a picture posted up a couple days ago which was supposed to be red roses but just looked like the guys arm had been badly burnt (mostly black ink) and the roses were weeping raw sores. Probably not the effect the player was hoping for.
  18. Dont know about slack, not as slick certainly. Also a reminder that the team spirit has been good for years - you dont get successive promotions without it and its a not a MP invention which other interviews by Sibley would have us believe.
  19. Some of the other trolls survive by actually knowing about football or occasionally being funny. Just being a **** in every post is only going to end up one way. edit. sorry forgot this was TMS. Heres a picture of a hooker Tokes ordered up.
  20. I like interviews with KD, you get more from them if you read between the lines. Hes old enough and experienced enough to not simply trot out what he thinks he is expected to say, as is the case with most younger players.
  21. Morgan and Cork and lightweight in the sense of they are wiry and sinewy - built to cover a lot of ground - which our pressing game needs. Ive actually got the opposite concern - that Wanyama wont be able to do the amount of running expected carrying that muscle bulk.
  22. You dont want to kebab any of them? sheesh.
  23. I googled 'lordshill hippos' and the electoral register came up.

    Lukaku

Slightly off topic, but they are actually worth far more than that. Its an indication of how overheated the PL has become that a 12 stone player is worth £20m in transfers but only c£2m in gold. http://www.onlygold.com/tutorialpages/yourweightingold.asp
  25. Seriously? (Ive no idea, I don't know much about him)
