  1. Bit like corned beef in the UK.
  2. By the wonders of google I am now an expert on Brazilian drink driving laws. Apparently zero alcohol in the blood is allowed - stricter than the UK - but that 30% of drivers have alcohol in the blood at the weekend - so maybe some do pay the police off. He's got no excuse in saying he didnt know it was illegal though. On June 19, 2008, Brazil passed a zero tolerance law for drivers with any measurable content of alcohol in their blood. Law 11.705 was proposed by the Brazilian Congress and passed by President Luiz Inácio da Silva. The law was proposed in view of studies which show that when it comes to driving under the influence, there is no such thing as a secure level of alcohol content in the blood. Law 11.705 cancels the previous law, which only determined penalties past a .06 BAC (blood alcohol content) level. Instead of only targeting drunk driving, Law 11.075 also targets impaired driving. Valid all over the Brazilian territory, the law also forbids the sale of alcoholic drinks at businesses along the rural stretches of federal roads. Traffic accidents caused by drunk drivers are one of the risks of driving in Brazil. A study conducted in Brazil by UNIAD, a center of studies about alcohol and drugs, revealed that 30% of drivers had alcohol in their blood on weekends.[/SIZE] http://gobrazil.about.com/od/gettingaroundbrazil/a/drylaw.htm
  3. Trying to imply he only got pulled because he didnt pay off the police by the sound of it Cant see that going down too well.
  4. Have to agree. We all do stupid things at times - but he should have held his hands up rather than try and justify it.
  5. I think I'll leave it here. You've proved the point very clearly. People who deny ever notions like race and class have ever entered their heads and how disgusting it is that anyone should suggest such a thing are very illuminating. The rant more so.
  6. Do tell us more. Im very drawn to liberals. Did you suddenly go off the deep end into an uncontrolled rant yesterday too?
  7. Ho ho. My, havent seen an unprompted tizz like this. Don't be shy. Tell us all about your black girlfriend at college and your many black friends, who you dont happen to have seen for a while, by circumstance, not choice you understand.
  8. Ofcom say mong is okay, but St Chalet, he say no. http://www.chortle.co.uk/news/2012/01/23/14710/gervais_cleared_over_mong_gag
  9. Married to an ugly black woman who doesnt speak English are you? Thought not. Nice faux outrage btw.
  10. So you didnt read / comprehend the sentence then?
  11. Sung by a black woman promoting "coffee coloured people by the score".
  12. Colour is often a factor imo, but along with many others. Class and shared values, humour, experience and language are more important. Just as being an academy product dont guarantee hero worship. It is true however that you are more likely to be cut more slack if you are a young, good looking, run around a lot lad from Southampton who speaks well in interviews than an ugly, non english speaking black guy. Its the way the world works - people are attracted to people like themselves and the good looking.
  13. Watch it. I got a racism infraction for posting up Blue Mink's 'Melting Pot'.
  14. He's got a very loose limbed way of walking and running - languid is the perfect word.
  15. Exactly, thanks. Perceptions of being a 'local boy', 'come through the ranks', 'one of us' and 'loyal' count for a lot with some fans especially and grant a player a lot of leeway. Being signed in lg 1and therefore de facto not very good and not speaking the language and appearing in interviews to say nice stuff about the club or fans allows a whole different set of assumptions to grow up.
  16. I dont disagree necessarily about Sunday, it wasnt his best game - but in general a lot of people fail to see the good stuff he does. Weirdly there was a couple behind me during the match; the bloke was giving him stick all through the match whilst the wife was gently pointing out all the good runs moves and passes - which the guy acknowledged and then continued with the abuse.
  17. If it was Guly who had come through the academy and Lallana or JWP who had been brought in when we were in lg1 attitudes would be reversed.
  18. The other (BBC) Peter White was in the Alex on Sunday.
  19. Hope not. We're going to end up like West Ham at this rate, bloated squad with seven or eight strikers - presumably with most of them ****ed off that they arent getting what they thought they'd been promised.
  20. and then try and post a few matey jokey posts as if eveyone will forget the normal pattern of the previous five years

  22. I tried that using a dyson vacuum cleaner. I wasnt having a wee though.
  23. Could be that Bologna are getting their 70% (£9.8m) upfront and we have struck some kind of deal with Penarol about their 30%.
