Are we including Big Brother evictions in this?

Saw the events unfold on TV at work in central London. Cancelled a meeting at the (very tall and on Heathrow flightpath) HSBC building in Canary Wharf.

Wow - sense of humour failure AND an irrelevant pointless comment in one short post. Productive, well done.

An effusive paean of praise for Nigel's first year by a poster who joined in September 2010. Hm... Agree though - the boy dun great.

Clearly Adkins should have psychically planned for Seabourne being in hospital with Butterfield, Richardson and Harding injured.
-
That just was one of the resident WUMs who wasnt even at the match.

Hats off to you sir!

Andy's right. Thats a good area to park. Near London road station and Preston Park. Its free (no residents parking permits or meters) but usually busy so you'll have to drive around a bit to find a space. I used to live in Florence road, you could try there. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&safe=off&q=brighton&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=1315l3052l0l3352l8l8l0l2l2l0l234l1175l0.2.4l6l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1440&bih=775&wrapid=tlif131560397177210&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl

Actually there is a thread on 'Palace pay up front?'.......

Fair comment from six months ago, although I dont bother now. The trolls have won and the place is a near graveyard because of it.

But you choose your pub by the atmosphere. If your favourite local gets taken over by mongs, you might try to turn your back, but if they still make up the majority of the noise eventually you go elswhere. You only have to look at the moronic quality of the post above yours, predictable almost down to the word, to understand why, at this very moment there are perhaps 50-60 browsing this board and there have been posts on 12 threads in the past two hours. By contrast there are 843 people online on the Brighton board North Stand Chat right now (with 6,824 active members compared with 3,400 here) and they have more than three times the number of active threads. Thats a measure of the vibrancy, and fun, this place has lost.

Aah. Actually thinking about it, this isnt your problem, its the problem of whoever you bought it from. You have a contract with them to supply you with an ipad in exchange for the cash you paid. They havent delivered. UPS back you up about this and say the neighbour got it. Ergo you havent recived your ipad and they still need to supply you with one. Its the vendors responsibility to retrieve it from the neighbour or from their contractor (UPS), not yours. Hassle the vendor. If you bought it with a credit card get the credit card company to chase them up for you.
-
Dunno where you stand legally (although I assume you could demand UPS reimburse you since you didnt ask them to assign the delivery to anyone else). However maybe the 3g provider could track the location of the Ipad. Then youd likely know if it was ever delivered or the neighbour nicked it.

I know a life long Saints fan whose son was very promising. Trials for two top five clubs and eventually signed to a lower prem side. She tried to him a trial at Saints but was always told, "if we are interested our scouts will pick him up". Maybe they were right, he never did make it.

But this isn't a community in the sense that we each have an equal say in how it governed. If it were things may have been very different. As it is the people who own the site have, in my opinion, a poor grasp / flawed judgement of what makes a vibrant, varied and interesting forum for Saints fans. On any successful special interest forum, whilst there will be a huge range of personalities and outlooks, the members are united by a common passion. This isnt the case for a fairly small number of prolific posters of this site - what emanates from them - forcefully, repeatedly and unavoidably is not enthusiasm for Saints (although that may be present and buried deep somewhere) but a need to criticise, get a reaction or be condescending to fellow posters. People often make a plea for tolerance, using the analogy of this forum as a group of diverse mates down the pub discussing football. I agree that wide ranges of political, economic, social, environmental and sporting views are fascinating to engage with. With friends views are considered and debated, you learn a bit and maybe change an opinion or two. Unresolvable differences are eased away because mates also have a fairly complete set of social skills and manage to inject huge doses of wit and humour, not take themselves too seriously and excercise a bit of self restraint. It needs to be fun, so people self regulate because they know that if they are repeatedly dull, condescending and critical about the beer, the pub, Saints, the weather et al - they find themselves drinking alone pretty quickly. This forum turns that process on its head. There is no peer pressure. The witty, the moderate, and the balanced get squeezed out, banned or turned into casual visitor mode. The goons who would never find an audience in the pub get the (emptying) place to themselves.

Ditto. And as the interesting posters have declined then the concentration of the poisonous goons has increased.
-
Were there any cameras? Perhaps they are remaking and updating 'Driving Miss Daisy'.
-
Did Mike tell you that?
-
I dont need to deal with it. I can quite happily ignore it, unlike your family. Im just pointing out that, like Hypo, you wriggle and twist looking for some justification.
-
Your posts are an almost continous stream of belly aching at someone.

He's always bleating about something. Trying to portray it as a one off is disingenous - more commonly known as lying.

bingo

tbf you probably mean my accusations. They were true when he was at Saints but they may not be true anymore. I still wouldnt touch him though.

People make up stories and feed them to the papers just as they make up stories and post them on web forums. If the story is interesting and not libellous the papers often wont bother to fact check it.

The funniest part was the hysterical girly fit from the resident drama queen.
