Nah not true for some. It will always be a combination of wages, quality of club, likelihood of success of club, what the area is like to live in / nearness to friends and relllys. As MLT once said when challenged about not moving for big money "Its my home. I've got a four bed detached house , two cars and if I retire at 30 I'll never have to work again. Why would I move?"

If what you say is true then exams are measuring different things now compared with 40 years ago. Cognitive ability is reasoning and processing power whilst rote learning is knowledge. Both are important, but actually neither are exactly what most employers want - which is practical skills.

They also say Baldock's 18 year old brother George is the better player. Mebbe we should have a second look around.

Yeah maybe - but Filipenko is potentially a credible HCDAJFU and a good shout as a left field rumour. You'd have to be really bored and a bit sad to research little known Belarussian defenders just tfor the vicarious thrill of a few fellow saints fans discussing him.
-
I thought that, too random to be made up - unless its a cunning double bluff...... Filipenko played for Belarus against England in 2008 and 2010, apparently did well both times from a few snippets Ive read. He's 6'4".

Typical SWF bedwetting by a few. Relative merits. Seaborne has previously only played in League 1 and lg 2 for Exeter and been a stand in for Saints. Gorkss has spent the past five years playing in the Championship and is 29. Fontaine has spent the past five years playing in the Championship, is 25 and left footed.

Not always. Women aren't inherently safer drivers, its just that they drive fewer miles on average than men. Therefore whilst it is fair to charge men more for unrestricted policies those capped at a certain mileage (eg 5,000 pa) should be priced at parity - but they arent.

Add up the number of players listed in the book and use that in the title eg '5,800 ÷ 125' with maybe an explanatory subtitle.

I have only played the SWF arcade once in the past year, when I was trying to put a strain on Johnny's work and marriage. -
Hartlepool 0 - 0 Saints - Post Match Reaction Thread

Saints drew away, Bournemouth and P'boro drew at home. Huddersfield only draw with a team in relegation spot. Good results -
Its a proven stat that a lot of accidents are caused by a driver trying to retrive a lighted cigarette they've dropped - but afaik smoking isnt considered a risk factor for drivers.

So to sum up. GM started this thread to claim he had been vindicated because Benali is suing Cortese. But in fact Benali hasn't sued Cortese. If he does his case may or may not contain some of issues bandied around here as facts. Or they might be proved to inaccurate, wrong, one side of the story or just made up. No-one knows, despite quite a few people claiming they do. Q'uelle surprise.

Lots of clubs in and around Birmingham though. Aston Villa is the biggest club in the area. -

Putting the local government job "cuts" into perspective
buctootim replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
No. There is a real problem of small countries like Luxembourg and Ireland undercutting major economies on corporation tax and attracting international companies to officially be domiciled there, even though they do almost none of their business in that country. Dell and Intel play that particular game. -

I may have used some licence but I dont think that, from memory, it completely misrepresents some of your previous posts. I apologise if that isnt your view -

Not all companies use complex and ultimately dishonest but legal means to avoid tax. If you allow companies like Vodafone and Barclays to get away with it all it does is put pressure on those companies who are paying the full rate of corporation tax to follow suit - otherwise it makes them seem as if they are less well managed and returning less on capital. You then have an unseemly race to the bottom. Im a shareholder in Barclays by the way. -

Given that you dont want to tax companies or the rich and want to reduce tax on the middle class. Perhaps you might enlighten us as to where the money will come from. Oh and before you say 'cutting back on spongers', by far the highest costing public service is the health service, followed by pensions and education. -

Corporation tax is paid (or should be paid) on profits. Barclays have consistently made profits through the crisis. One of the principal problems is that the UK, like lots of other countries has a fairly high corporation tax rate at 28% but then has lots of exemptions, allowances and offsets. Clever accountants will manipulate that to the n'th degree leaving only £2.50 profits to pay tax on. Ireland has a much lower tax rate of 12% but with almost zero exemptions - meaning they actually collect almost 12% in tax.
