Houses in London and Switzerland?, a mega yacht with car deck in the marina? local blaggers with dodgy plates? who knows
-
All down to personal takes - but as Pinnacle offered the most if Fry thought still thought they had a viable chance of being successful he would have extended the exclusivity period imo.
-
All thats true - but with big assets come big maintenance charges. You need deep pockets to be able to fund the losses until you can get back to the position where the assets start to work for you again instead of against you - ie in the Prem and filling the ground.
-
Even that doesnt make sense. How can you be "the main director on a four man board"? especially if MLT was the Chairman.
-
Christ I hope not. You do know what shape a spike is? Lets hope for a sustained recovery.
-
Is that a Delia recipe?
-
I'm sure we can soon change that

dont worry about it - check his previous posts.

IMO buying Saints only makes sense for two groups of people Very wealthy Saints / football fans who see a real medium term prospect of competing in the Prem and are prepared to take a punt. They will know they could potentially lose a lot of money. Property people who are preapred to give the club a reasonable chance to turn itself around, but wont hesitate to sell off assets - incl SMS, Jacksons Farm and Staplewood to recoup losses if they dont look like getting promoted and increasing the clubs value quickly.
-
On the basis of Fry's statement. Fry stated he opened serious negotitations with other bidders as soon as Pinnacle's exclusivity expired 10 days ago - indicating he knew sometime before that Pinnacle werent going anywhere.
-
Lowe or liquidation? Won't come to that.
-
Very positive!
-
Bit left field. Cant see Unilever wanting their CEO to be tied up with a football club - too tribal - hurts sales.
-
Thats £20 saved already!

Not quite as good as Ted's statue, but it always reminds of Brighton's own disaster with Steve Ovett. "During the nineties it was subjected to numerous humiliations by pranksters who stuck an Alf Garnett moustache on it, covered it in a woolly jumper and dressed it as a schoolgirl". http://arbroath.blogspot.com/2007/09/thief-runs-off-with-steve-ovett-statue.html

Hope not. The irony (imo) is that the Pinnacle group appear to have borrowed Vega's plan - ie I'll buy the club for £1 and pay off the creditors out of my massive profits when I get to the Champions League (exaggerated to make the point).
-
Yes - which fits in with the rumours that the Swiss promised more upfront (ie real hard cash) whereas Pinnacle promised more long term from future profits. It looks to me as though the FL didnt believe Pinnacle's business plan was deliverable.
-
Arguably they were only the second choice because Pinnacle promised more in the long run - but of course that means nothing if you dont deliver on your promises.
-
Because they dont have any money / or more charitably - they realised they had overbid.
-
Who knows, but Fry was persuaded at least 10 days ago that they were a better bet than Pinnacle, well before the Fialka fiasco. Theres got to be something substantial to them.
-
Not quite. First you need to extricate them - ie actually sell the companies / assets . When you've done that you can go back and have the original ruling set aside IMO - mid season if necessary - on the grounds that original ruling was flawed - rendering an appeal unccessary.
-
He admits to arse play, dildos and the like but comes over all coy about whether he wears glasses!
-
Very interesting thought.

I agree its not coincidence that Pinnacle and Jackson went on the same day - but I think they were pushed -not jumped. Fry, imo has a better option and doesnt need to **** around with bids which have no chance. The big questions now are 1. whether the major creditors are prepared to accept anything less than the breakup value 2. whether the successful bidders are genuinely interested in rebuilding the club or buying the assets cheap, running the club for a bit, hoping for success but knowing that they have a 'no loss' out should they need it in a couple of years ala Archer at Brighton.

Its not been a very scenic tour getting to this point - but here is the best place to be.
