That's all I need to know. He's definitely off.
-
We'll buy him for £4m in January and then everyone will forget that when we sell Xx player for £35m in the summer.
-
The one thing Mané was not, was consistent. So we have at the very least replaced like for like on that count if Redmond does indeed turn out to be inconsistent.

I assume everyone is being sarcastic, as some people can't be as stupid as their posts would otherwise have you believe. Can they??
-
Unless, of course, as an experienced keeper and coach, he has a higher opinion of Gazza than some on here.
-
I'll humour you; Which players would you have forced to stay?
-
Have you read what he actually said?

CONFIRMED: Graziano Pelle Joins Shandong Luneng - Undisclosed Fee (12-15M)

He would you feel if we were to announce the signing of Charlie Austin tomorrow, rather than having bought him in January against all expectation? -
I wasn't the one starting Pelle ahead of Austin. Our style of play in the run in didn't require either of them. Austin was bought in Jan to replace Pelle. Either provides a decent option for t eh bench if we play the same way as we did at the end of 2015/16. We're well placed.

What we know (if the telegraph is to be believed): Austin is the Pelle Replacement Redmond is the Mane replacement We are after a Vic replacement Speculatively: We are short on GK - unless Watson thinks Gazza is sufficiently improved, and even then we may be short. If we were to announce the signing of a right back from the Euro 2016 finalists most people would be happy. Cedric will be deemed good enough and Martina is cover. Centre back is well covered. Fonte, VVD, Gardos, Maya Left back, Bertrand and Targett as cover. MF - plenty of cover. Clasie, Romeu, Reed, JWP, Davis, Forwards - Perm three from Tadic, Redmond, Austin, JRod, Shlong Add to that the focus on promoting youth. In fact I suspect we will sign one or two more, particularly if the right player becomes available at the right price. I suspect we will sign a young striker -21/22 in our normal shopping price range, and maybe a Number 10 type player at a similar price to give options.
-
Was Pelle starting when we were in that rich vein of form in the run in?
-
What league did you think Mané was in when we signed him? Was Mané "of Mané's calibre" when we signed him? Our recruitment has been pretty good, and if the club believe that Redmond fits the bill, then they deserve the respect of the fans, and Redmond deserves the time to deliver on his clear potential.

Back page filler. They've nothing to say, so take 500 words to say it.
-
Do you think we've finished our business for this year? Or that Boufal is out only target (if, indeed, he ever was)?
-
The writing was on the wall back end of last season. Our style has developed and moved on. The club may also feel he is blocking Gallagher's development. If we get back what we paid that will have been an excellent return. By and large I've enjoyed his contribution, but his time here is up I feel.

Puel, we know, is a highly thought of coach, and has his own right hand man in The Plank. Dave Watson is both goal keeping coach and set piece maestro, and is also highly regarded. Saints could probably have chosen from hundreds, if not thousands, of very good cone monitors. If they've chosen Black it is for very good reasons, and unlikely to be based upon some dinlo football fans' views of his track record. #TrustLes

Spot on. Don't give him leg if he can't get the little details right
-
Watson had a key role in devising our set plays. Although if he does the same for England and was responsible for Kane taking those woeful efforts perhaps he's not the man for the job....

CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons
Faz replied to toe_punt's topic in The Saints
£36m is even more bonkers -
Think he would be a good signing, purely on the basis his name scans perfectly for the Sadio Mané chant. That's all.
-
If he does go, he's added a god couple of million Euros to the asking price
-
It's pretty evident he's 22

CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons
Faz replied to toe_punt's topic in The Saints
Come on, £34-36m is outstanding business. After his first 18 games most thought we'd bought a pup. His goal tally in the final 18 was boosted by 4 in one game. This year it's hard to argue he's been inconsistent. He does get you off your seat, no doubt, and will be difficult to replace, but nor impossible. #WeBuildOn -
