  1. Yeah, jaw dropping that Cook is saying that he was obvious to POL's ability to trigger criminal prosecutions, especially given he's also saying how fastidious and involved he was with the business as a whole. Re: Crozier... It's funny how leaders are quick to give themselves, and their fellow board members, a pat on the back when things go well in an organisation, yet suddenly become blissfully ignorant of what's going on when things go pear shaped...

I find it more productive not to 'take sides' when researching something I don't know much about...

Cheers Badger. With repeated apologies for my ignorance in these matters, is it likely that Hammas would now be acting differently if someone like Peres was currently at the helm?

Has there ever been an Israeli government that would countenance compromise? (Apologies for my genuine ignorance, I've never really followed or researched this 'conflict'... which might actually put me in a good position given the largely polarised views that the 'experts' seem to have on the matter... )

So, are we at least in agreement that there is no solution to this problem? (that both sides are ever going to agree on)
  6. But who's more predictable? Those that are predicatable in the first place or those that keep responding to those that are predictable....?

That's the price we pay for the existence of the Animal Kingdom I guess, the human race in particular... this whole animal concept was flawed from the outset... now, who was to blame for that... God or the Big Bang....?) (sorry, I'm not helping one jot here, am I....? )

How can you have "self-determination" on something like choice of land to live on if someone else also believes they have the right to claim it too....? Isn't it the act of "self-determination" that ultimately leads to war? Surely its collaboration and compromise that's required rather than "self-determination"...? (sorry, I tend to avoid these types of circular debates these days, so it may be a bit of a dumb question....)
  9. We've scored 1 less than current league leaders Leicester and 2 more than 2nd placed Leeds... so maybe our apparent lack of firepower isn't the main factor as to why we're adrift of auto promotion? #devilsadvocate
  10. I'm ambivalent.... I don't feel the need to call for his head as things stand but I wouldn't be particularly bothered if he left.
  11. Where did I say the contentment with draws in order to preserve the unbeaten run was the *only* contributing factor to our current position....? (btw, we've actually lost less games than the current league leaders.... go figure.... )
  12. We find ourselves adrift of 3 teams that haven't had a similar unbeaten run so, yep, I totally agree with you... it was indeed a massive contributor to the position we find ourselves in...
  13. Yes and yes Edit: ignore me, Leeds game started at 8pm so still playing
  14. I've always felt Russ seems to be one of those managers who makes 5 subs because we can, not necessarily because we need to...
  15. Many would admire your optimism...
  16. Wait a sec... Just asked my son for an update on our second half performance...
  17. Is that before or after certain Saintsweb posters take an anti-depressant or two...?
  18. He's a teetotal season ticket holder... (true story)
  19. Just got the following message from my son who is at the game... Sounds like he's been watching a different game to you chaps...?? (I wasn't able to watch the first half so can't comment either way)
  20. Just got in... Anyone done one of these yet...?
  21. Or, to look at it another way, if, as you imply, we haven't been "rumbled" then a 0-0 against a team that is "struggling" isn't a particularly good result from our perspective....
  22. Glad to be in agreement
  23. Red herring isn't perhaps the best choice of phrase, but I get the gist of what he's trying to say... It did become a bit of a 'poisoned chalice', or at least a distraction, in that we became content with a draw (when we could/should have won) because, "hallelujah", it protected our unbeaten run.... In other words, if we'd had a few more "WWL"s, rather than "DWD"s, during that unbeaten run we'd be in a better position than we are now...
