  1. Good to see one of the posters on their comments section has at last caught up with the discovery that one of the bright sparks on here stumbled across a few weeks ago.... Keep up fellas..... ;-)
  2. @pn_neil_allen: So far 11,261 seats sold for #Pompey clash with Brum tomorrow night. Inc 485 visitors. Offers for fans are Four for £44 and Two for £25.
  3. @solentsport: Football's financial prospects: Matt Slater assesses the fall-out from a turbulent few weeks for football financ... http://t.co/8kcmHMLY
  4. I also come in from the M3 and down the A33. In the premier league days (when traffic was a little busier getting out of Southampton than it is now) I also used to park off the Avenue (at the Common) and walk the 30 minutes to the ground. But now I drive further in and park in the small outside car park just before the entrance to the NCP Charlotte Place car park. It's called Compton Walk Car Park - map here: http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/carpark/compton_walk/so15/southampton/ It's a pay and display and costs £4.60 for 4 hours (IIRC). The NCP is considerably dearer (£10 quid for the same timeframe rings a bell). There's also a synagogue / mosque at the rear of Compton Walk car park where they open up their car park for match days at a fiver a throw. I usually get there just after 1pm (for a 3pm game) and have no trouble parking (yes, it's a tad early but I'd spend the extra half hour or so grabbing a pint at the King Alfred before the game than sitting in traffic and/or walking from further out.
  5. Lambert out!
  6. It should also ensure a sell-out for the tournament I'd have thought (I assume it'll be another three team tournament like last year?). What were the attendance figures last season?
  7. "Another funny case was when we wanted to see a player in action and sent an agent, rather than a club official, to meet him at the airport. The guy was clueless and ended up bringing him to Southampton, not Portsmouth!" Blimey O'Reilly....Is he saying we nearly ended up with Riquelme instead of Pompey....?!
  8. @pn_neil_allen: Interesting Birch quotes in #Pompey programme. 'It's not the players' fault. They didn't force anyone to give them their contracts. 'It's the responsibility of the directors of a business to manage it prudently.' I guess that means you Mr Lampitt. #Pompey
  9. Success....of sorts...!
  10. Ah, yep....think I know the one....been there before....didn't know it was called 'the rake' although, to be honest, it was usually an end of night port of call so the memory glands wouldn't be too awake...!
