I was doing a search on one of those comparison websites for best loan rates and the lowest interest rate by far was from 'ratesetter.com'. I'd never heard of them before so did a bit of digging around and found out they are one of a growing number of peer-to-peer lending/borrowing sites, where you effectivley borrow off a pool of other individuals, rather than a bank, with ratesetter.com sitting in the middle creaming off a relatively small fee. Another company, Zopa, seems to be the biggest name in this field. Recent FT.com article: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/a0c4b460-2b0f-11e0-a65f-00144feab49a,dwp_uuid=6997947c-a442-11dd-8104-000077b07658.html#axzz1CyueqIr0 Ratesetter website: http://www.ratesetter.com/default.aspx Anyone got any experiences of using these companies, either as a lender or a borrower? The one downside I can see is there isn't as much protection for the lender (aka investor) as you would get by leaving your money in a bank account but there aren't any major risks leaping out at me from the borrower's persepctive. Thoughts?

I was highlighting a trend (based on an underlying gut feel) rather than a cast-iron certainty. The observation being that we only seem to lose a Saturday game if we haven't played midweek. And we've never lost on the Saturday following a mid-week league game. Which gives rise to the theory that the team is more suited to playing twice a week than once a week (in terms of league games). That is all.

BBC reporter chap: "A gritty performace from Southampton" Watching those highlights would make an impartial observer wonder what all the fuss was about in our post-match reaction. Seems even more so like a good 3 points when not firing on all cylinders.

There is a pretty full League One programme tomorrow night but Saints are not playing. Which got me thinking.... I've had this suspicion for a while now that Saints generally play better when we have two league games per week rather than one - just a gut feel. So, I had a quick look at our results and my hunch is fairly accurate, in that we've never lost a Saturday league game following a midweek league game, whereas we've lost 4 Saturday league games when we've had no preceding midweek league game. (I've purposely ignored cup games) So, my somewhat tenuous conclusion is that we are well equipped to handle the plethora of 'double-game' weeks looming on the horizon....once we've lost to Rochdale on Saturday of course.... ;-)
