Good observation, which means the next tranche of 7 games will tell us how much the latest good run of 7 games has been influenced by an upturn in the manager's (& team's) performance or more down to the reduced quality of opposition. Interesting times...

You Islamocritic, you... (I can see this new word catching on ) -

And therein lies the crux of the problem.... -

I believe this is the applicable law: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2022/37/part/1/crossheading/undue-influence I can't see anywhere in there that explicity says that the act of "unduly influencing" someone's vote is confined to the polling station. But, as I say, maybe my interpretation is wrong...? -

I know I'm in danger of sounding like a scratched record, but the way the law is worded, the crime of "undue influence" doesn't appear to apply exclusively to activity in or around the polling station. It could equally apply to any such activity in said family's house or car, prior to going to the polling station, for example. Unless my interpretation of the law is wide of the mark? (no doubt there are suitable experts on Saintsweb that can correct me ) -

Uncle Trousers has sorted it folks... with the help of my good friend Google AI, the new word to use is "Islamocriticism" or "Islamocritic"... You're welcome -

Fair enough.... the obvious question to ask them then is: "What 'undue influence' did you observe?"... has anyone asked them yet? If so, what was the answer...? -

Maybe the best way forward here would be to invent a word to describe "People that dislike / criticise certain aspects of Islam" (if such a word doesn't already exist) and reduce the defintion of 'Islamaphobia' down to simply "Prejudice / Hatred against Islamism".... that would clear things up a tad, wouldn't it? -

Fair question... I don't know... you'd have to ask the people that reported it, rather than some weirdo fence-sitter on Saintsweb... -

Lets say, for arguments sake, that the dictionary definition is incorrect / out-dated, what word would be more appropriate to use than 'Islamaphobia' for people that simply dislike the Islam religion? Asking for a friend -

What if any acts of "undue influence" take place before they get to the polling station...? -

Simply disliking Islam appears to fit the dictionary definition, which I wouldn't have thought is the crime of the century...? -

If "undue influence" is being applied, not only is it a 'perversion of the electoral process' its outright illegal under the Elections Act 2022... https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2022/37/part/1/crossheading/undue-influence I guess the issue here though is, how do you prove that someone has been "unduly influenced"...? -

@Matthew Le God has an aversion to all religions, so does that make him islamaphobic (as well as christianophobic, hinduphobic, buddisaphobic, etc...)? -

Depends if there's any coercion involved, I guess? My son supports Saints because I do, but I didn't force him to (well, if you discount the amount of Saints merch I bought him as a baby / toddler...!) Isn't the accusations behind this "family voting" malarkey that some family members are intimidated to vote a certain way? I've no idea, but I thought that was the ascertain here. -

How would the chief election official know whether said family members were subject to "undue influence" or not? (Undue influence being illegal of course) -

Isn't a phobia an irrational fear of something? What if someone's 'fear' of Islam is rational, what's the name for that? -

Reading through this thread, I think confirmation bias is the true winner of the day -
So far, Tonda's tenure can be divided into three 7 match chunks... - An excellent first 7 - A poor next 7 - An excellent last 7 Here's hoping he can break that cycle over the next 7 games...

It baffles me why he was effectively dropped for half the season after playing well and scoring a worldie vs Norwich in the cup. Glad to see him now getting the playing time he deserves.
