  1. Exactly the question I posed yesterday. Like yourself, I don't understand how they could do that
  2. Mrs Trousers is a parent governer at a local primary school and while I can concur that the school is well run I know that there is a lot of central government orientated waste and red tape when it comes to the financal side of things.
  3. Clegg was true to his word even though it ean't in his interests to do so. For that I applaud him.
  4. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/election_2010/default.stm End of the road for Brown? Or won't Cameron play ball?
  5. Who did you vote for out of curiosity?
  6. Gosh
  7. Wasn't she British Telecom?
  8. It's clear that Cameron should side with the SNP and push through Scottish independance. To have such a large majority in England yet having no mandate to rule has sadly changed my mind on maintaining the Union.
  9. It transpires that people were turning up a 7pm to be confronted by huge queues, so they went home and came back at 9pm only to be confronted by even longer queues. So this isn't just a case of dome muppet pitching up at 5 to 10, rather that the infrastructure wasn't in place to handle the throughput throughout the evening.
  10. + 1
  11. Probably Markus gearing up for a takeover of Pompey and taking over their spot in the championship (rebrandimg as SFC of course)
  12. Blimey...over 11% swing to Tories in 2nd labour safe seat...they'll get a working majority if that's reflected over the more marginal seats
  13. They've now changed exit poll to Tories 305 and lib dems 61 (labour no change)
  14. Slightly bigger swing to Tories in Sunderland compared to exit poll
  15. slightly bigger swing (8.4%) to Conservatives in first result (Sunderland) compared to exit poll
  16. Labour MPs falling over themselves to say that they would be happy to do a deal with the Libs Dems. Funny how they refused to comment on it before today....
  17. That is correct...if brown can get 326 MPs on his side from whatever party it doesn't matter what the Tory score is (as long as the Tories get under 326) - weird old system!!
  18. Dubious exit poll imho. Lib dems will get at least 10 more than 59 seats...but will they come off the Tory or labour exit poll total...eyes down...
  19. It isn't the employees on the best packages that Duncan is fighting for though (as I understand it)
  20. Sorry if I'm not keeping up, but are they talking about liquidating the holding company here or the 'football club' itself? If the latter then they effectively become a new club and new clubs don't just automatically walk into the 2nd tier of English football, do they? Either they are starting afresh or they're not, surely? And even if it's the former (I.e. Holding company) didn't we learn the hard way last year that the football league don't recognise this dual identity?? Confused...
  21. Aye, that was my suspicion. Any thoughts on this Duncan? I.e. Hit the fat cats without hitting the families who have spent a year looking forward to their holidays? (I'm not having a pop here, just chewing the cud on alternative courses of action)
  22. I suspect he was generalising....something you wouldn't catch a labour voter doing of course... ;-)
  23. This is possibly going to sound facecious and insincere but it's genuinely not intended that way, I'm simply genuinely interested....what does one learn about politics by doing a politics degree and what jobs does that help you qualify for? As I say, that question is always going to sound somewhat 'scoffing' in written form across the Internet so apologies in advance if it doesn't read well.
