  1. Let's face it.....It's not gonna be today, is it?
  2. "please bear in mind that Southampton Football Club will be a member of the Football League." Even if we don't bow to their demands?
  3. Maybe Pinnacle have said to the FL: "OK, we'll reluctantly take the 10 points but how do we then comply with your CVA rule?". Hence the FL meeting today?
  4. The trouble is, if we comply with one rule (i.e. the 10 points) it's then impossible to comply with the next rule (i.e. the CVA). The only way we could do this is if the Football Club was forced into admin too....hmmm, now how would the FL achieve that I wonder...? Delay things at the last minute perhaps....? Hmmmm....
  5. Cheers - yep, sums it up nicely. So, in other words, the football league have created a set of rules that, in our circumstance, is impossible to comply with even if we do what they want us to do in respect of the 10 point penalty?
  6. I think Pooh Sticks would be more appropriate for our current predicament...
  7. Indeed. "Why?" crossed my mind too. It's unusual for Sale to mention SFC 'off the cuff'...IMHO of course
  8. What 'type' of what?

  10. So, the Sale piece in the D.Mail this morning could just be Lowe going into derriere covering mode in anticipation of the FL decision later?
  11. Surely someone must know what time the FL meeting is?
  12. Why does it matter whether we deliberately set out to exploit this loophole or just stumbled into it? Surely it doesn't affect the legal position (as opposed to the moral position) one iota?
  13. Small piece from Charles Sale in the mail today: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1194532/Charles-Sale.html "Troubled League One club Southampton are confident that they will not be docked 10 points next season for going into administration. Their lawyers believe they have a watertight case that Football league rules refer to a football club going to the wall — not the club's holding company which was the case at St Mary's. " Doesn't say anything new but it has been alleged in the past that Sale get's his SFC feeds from a certain ex-chairman
  14. I agree when talking about an absolute amount of effort. However.... You start off with a bucket of sand. I then give you another 2 buckets, making 3 buckets. How much more sand do you have now than when you started, as a percentage?
  15. My 'reading-between-the-lines' understanding is that it was Barclays who decided what date to pull the plug, rather than Lowe. Not sure how much 'power' he had to influence Barclays to pull the plug a week earlier though....anyone?
  16. As this is football, one is duty bound to use a percentage in excess of 100....(as in "Rooney gave 120% out there today").....so, I'll go for 170%
  17. But haven't we already suffered 'punishment' for our overspending? Our relegation is a direct result of the cut-back countermeasures put in place last season to tackle the debt. I acknowledge that the FL's rulkes don't differentiate between clubs that are/were trying to address their financial plight and those that plough on regardless but, as you say, looking at it objectively, we have not gained from going into debt, quite the opposite. And the FL rules are there to counter "gain", aren't they? In fact, the FL rules give no incentive to a club to try and rescue itself.
  18. Does it mention what time? thx
  19. I don't even have a clue which stick to pick up, let alone which end to hold
  20. Thanks. Keep us posted re: the answer to your follow up email...i.e. "Dear Football League. Thank you for your email. I would be grateful if you could actually address the specific points I raised in my original email. Thank you."
  21. Which is odd. because last week I'm sure there was a quote in the media associated to MLT which said KK was second choice...? Time to give up trying to follow this plot me thinks
  22. That's assuming we haven't missed a deadline for entering that league of course....
