To be fair, gjphilsaint did express misgivings about Pardew earlier in the year when new managers were being discussed, so not just a knee-jerk reaction to today's news
No idea....just looked him up earlier and saw that he was banned.
Perhaps he's really Alan Pardew and wanted to close off his account on here now he's been appointed? Would explain his campaign to get rid of Lowe and Wotte...
I reckon we should put out a second string side for ALL cup competitions this season (including Johnston's Paint Trophy) as we need to put 100% of first team effort into the league and clawing back the -10 points.
I know there's an argument that says a good cup run fuels confidence but I'd rather we kept our primary first team players away from the cup games.
I suspect a lot of people see the Johnston's Paint Trophy as a potentially easy route to Wem-ber-ley but I see it as a distraction.
Thoughts?
And to think some people said that nothing good would come out of going into administration...
(Well, someone's got to do Stanley/Mole's job while he's banned)
Most managers have their 'favourites' so would be interesting to see a list of players Pardew has signed down the years, thus perhaps offering a hint as to whom we may see join the squad over the coming weeks....
Well, at least we now know why Murty is training with us....
Pardew started at Reading in March 1998 (as caretaker manager) and Murty was one of his first signings that summer.
