Charles Sale; Daily Mail; 21st Jan Lowe point for Southampton Southampton's beleaguered chairman Rupert Lowe, who regained a club left in financial meltdown by the chronic mismanagement of the regime that forced him out of office, will have to make a major decision by the third week of March. That is whether to put the club into administration and take the Football League’s 10-point penalty this season. Southampton, whose bank Barclays are threatening to reduce their overdraft facility considerably, have to find extra monies by the end of next month to keep afloat.

Phew. What an exhausting read....were you disappointed to see Jan speed off?

True. A common human design flaw....i.e. worry that something bad will happen in the future which only makes what they're worrying about more likely to happen. I keep saying as much to Mrs Trousers. "Don't worry about it love, it'll never happen". I suspect it's the fact that I'm talking about the DIY jobs around the house that annoys her most, mind. -
If this was any other club I'd reply: "of course that's what it means"....but this isn't any other club....

"This decision does not, however, signal the end of Svensson's playing career, but the 33-year old has simply readjusted his priorities following the start of his new coaching career."

If they are good enough they will play. Hope that puts their minds at rest. -

Well, the drop in price would tend to indicate that somone is trying to sell more shares than anyone (or the 'market') is willing to buy

Given the detective track record on here, I assume the police are aware that posting a photo-fit of the suspect will result in a positive ID and conviction within hours?

Shouldn't that be lowe in the middle with a hold on crouch and Wilde?

What he said

Without revealing anything specific, was the "breaking point" something someone said to him directly or was it an 'event' that he got to hear about? cheers
-
I didn't get a wink....I know that much....
-
Cheers - got it now. One of the Dutch reader's comments: "He (Wotte) has destroyed many young footballers" And that was one of the less acidic comments about Wotte and Poortvliet.... Onwards and upwards

Are you thinking what I'm thinking....? Result of a swift phone call from the Alps perhaps?

Wouldn't it be just as fail safe not to sell home tickets to anyone who says "isn't it" at the end of every sentence? For example: "Can I have two tickets for the Northam Stand, isnt it?" p.s. some of my best friends are Welsh
-
Yeah, I thought that....I wonder if Poortvliet and Wotte cottoned on to the fact that they were probably the subject of an in-joke within the BBC South Today production team? (for I assume they chose the filming location for a bit of a chuckle?)
-
My children are wondering why I'm laughing out loud and I'm struggling for an answer....
-
So, the suggestion is that Poortvliet was a naive pawn being set-up for inevitable failure?
-
No, he was asking what he's doing now....not what he did when he was here.... (Note to any Norwegian lawyers watching: Only kidding)

Wotton: "Quick, cover you're earlobes....no-one's ever heard of you which means they'll assume you're a billionaire investor with a large boat"

All supporters are advised that Saturday's visitors to St. Mary's, Swansea City have been allocated the full away end for this game. The Welsh side are expected to sell all their tickets by Friday as demand for tickets has been very high at The Liberty Stadium. To ensure away fans travelling down on the day without tickets do not gain access to home supporter areas, Saturday's fixture will therefore be DATABASE ONLY on the day of the game. Change the word "end" to "section" I would venture...
