  1. Don't count one's chickens quite yet sir. There is usually a second wave of false hope in every such story of Saints player injury woe before the final moment of doom wipes it's feet on the doormat of inevitability.
  2. The clever money is on 80s comedian Billy Pearce
  3. Comedy gold. Consider my £5 for next year in the post.
  4. You could always pay it directly on his behalf. Cut out the middleman I say.
  5. So much so that some sad people have simply resorted to highlighting grammatical errors. Regards, Trousers p.s. no apostrophe needed in "book's" (sic), by the way.
  6. Perhaps Lowe could play his "great business mind" card and do a deal with Fulham such that they loan Baird to us now for 'free' in return for getting first refusal on Lallana in January...a sort of deposit/down payment if you will.... Come on Rupert....prove to the doubters on here that you are indeed a canny businessman....
  7. Perhaps we should have a whip round to pay for me to go back on holiday for a few months?
  8. Is your source Jonathon Ross?
  9. I was just about to post a link to the Daily Mail match report as the one I read in the newspaper this morning was pretty favourable to us but their on-line match report is written by someone else and is much more scathing of us. Stating the obvious but if one newspaper can report two completely different interpretations of the same game then it cements the fact that newspaper reports are 99% blind opinion and 1% fact. Fact.
  10. Conspiracy theory alert.....was it pure coincidence that you were sitting close enough to them to see where they were and say "hello" or are you more 'connected' to these guys that you let on....?
  11. It doesn't have to be "malicious" to be a red card. The only reason it wasn't a "leg breaker" is because he missed his leg by an inch!
  12. Out of interest, what were Sky saying about Lowe whilst they had the camera trained on him? I ask because TV stations only tend to hone in on the chairman towards the end of a game if there is some boardroom shenanigans 'going on' at the club in question. Our board situation is (relatively) stable at the moment so not sure why they felt the need to zoom in on Lowe.... Perhaps they were drawing comparisons between him and his rich equivalent on the QPR board?
  13. He's always been a good shot stopper. That's what kept us in the game for 60 mins. However, I don't let his excellent shot stopping skills cloud my less favourable view of his positional play when it comes to dealing with balls played into the box from a distance. If he was the complete package then he wouldn't be playing for us. My balanced view aside, still a superb performance though.
  14. +1 :smt114
  15. Who said that?
  16. Not sure why people are being asked for an opinion on this one as RED is the only right answer. Both feet were off the ground. The rules say that is a straight red, regardless of how bad or otherwise you think it looked. Simple. If people want a debate about it...... (on here? surely not).....then the question should be "Do you think the red card rule for a two footed challenge is too black-and-white?" Thank you.
  17. We've lost our shape in midfield since Scheiderlin went off
  18. Gillet = poor game
  19. Nice to see one of the richest men in football enjoying himself
  20. Ooohhh
  21. Game over
  22. Sky commentators saying our performance is excellent in the circumstances
