So, you rule out a different result if the Wolves penalty isn't given? #mysticmeg
-
It only takes one piece of 'bad luck' (aka woeful officiating) not to happen for the result of one of those games to have been different
-
...

Why didn't Ralph's 'limited tactics' trip us up in 2020 as much as they're supposedly tripping us up now...?
-
Indeed. We had plenty of poor second half performances during our 'top 6 form' run in 2020, but we were able to ride out the storm more often than not. Whilst not the sole factor, the woeful officiating has definitely been the straw that broke the camel's back on numerous occasions in recent times.

It was far post, not near post
-
Close! Edit: offside anyway
-
Just because we started the 2nd half poorly doesn't mean the woeful officiating didn't make a significant difference. It did.

House!

Incorrect

Whatever the result, the club need to lodge a complaint about the officials here. How do they come to such different decision on the penalties without there being so me keep me of corruption going on? Surely it can't be down to pure incompetence? Completely changed the course of the game (inspire of us not starting the first half well)

Bollocks. Game over
-
They've finally shown the replay. HOW ON EARTH IS ONE OF THOSE HANDBALL AND THE OTHER ISN'T???!!! More ****ing corrupt officials
-
I know it's partly due to the opposition waking up, but why do we seemingly have so many games where we come out in the second half looking like a completely different team to the first half?
-
Pretty sure his hand is close to his body when the ball strikes and it's the act of the ball hitting his hand that pushes it away from his body?
-
Pretty sure if the ref doesn't give that then VAR wouldn't have over-ruled it
-
This. One player trying to stop the ball with his hand, the other trying to get out of the way. Bonkers.
-
Trying to get his hand out of the way?
-
Bugger. Penalty
-
Great half from Saints. Back into our 2020 pomp. Here's hoping it's not one of our 'game of two halves' performances though. Thought Redmond was better than the scapegoat gang are making out.
-
Can't be long before we get the "wish we would stop fannying around with the ball at the back" brigade piping up...
-
I think the commentators are going to need a change of pants at half time given how much they're eulogising about Ings' goal
-
That ball from Ings was slightly behind Redmond to be fair there
-
Confidence wise, this is looking more like 2020 Saints than 2021 Saints
-
Another 7 goals and we're back in the top half
