FWIW, I definitely "Buy British" much more than I did, say, 5 years ago, but that may well be more down to moving to 'the countryside', where one is more inclined to support the local farms and cottage industries etc, than anything to do with Brexit and the resultant drop in imports, per se.

Should Dragan Šolak remove Rasmus Ankersen from the SFC board?
trousers replied to Dark Munster's topic in The Saints
Fair point. I wonder if Solak would be open to the notion of splitting the investment with 'someone else'? Of course, he actually already does given Katharina still has her 20% sharing in the club (I assume), so would he be willing to divide the ownership even more...? -

This might be a daft question, but why would someone of Solak's wealth need 3rd party investment in order to make a success of the club? Isn't it more a case of getting someone in to spend *his* money more astutely than the current lot are spending it...? -
Living the dream, I see...! (So says the man sat here in his pyjamas watching 'Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh' 😁)

Dusty Bin?

Or put him on gardening leave until then, get in a new manager now, and then sack Martin in June (by which time he'll have a queue of suitors desperate to sign him up... ). Best of both worlds, potentially...?

Phew... Cheers Alex....

We have a winner for this month's Saintsweb 'In a Nutshell' Award...

'Twas @stknowle (who, to be fair, qualified it after yesterday's game by saying it might not be straight away....)

If you start singing it loudly yourself, others might join in...?

Anyone know if PGMOL are obliged to release the audio recording of a VAR decision / non-decision if requested by a given club? Saints should be demanding a copy of the audio and publishing it far and wide. Or do PGMOL have the right to refuse access, assuming they've got something to hide...? I know they've released audio recordings of some decisions previously, but just wondering if that was upon demand or off their own backs? You can't imagine the likes of Nan City or Liverpool shrugging shoulders and letting this lie, whereas little ol' meek Southampton FC probably will...

You know things are getting bad when both versions of Charlie post one after the other...

We already know the answer to that... Shooting invariably leads to a loss of possession, which goes against the really clever philosophy that we're wedded to...
-
Isn't that more due to the result of us having to resort to fouls when our possession based obsession breaks down rather than anything to do with having a tough/hard/confrontational attitude...? Would be interesting to see a breakdown of the reasons for said yellow cards.... Not too many for dissent I would venture... (?)

I've been pedaling this 'conspiracy theory' on and off for a while now, but the longer the season goes on the more one begins to doubt one's own sanity, and starts to wonder if maybe, just maybe, there's an element of truth in it.... One thing's for sure, if someone *was* nefariously using Saints as some kind of footballing experiment, I don't think the outcome would look much different to what we're seeing at the moment, would it...?
-
Yep, that really narks me too. Although, to be fair to Martin, we've been "too nice" for many years now, perhaps even decades. I thought with Diaz's 'shithousery' versus Newcastle in the opening game we were seeing the dawn of a nastier Saints team that had wised up to the "if you can't beat them, join them" nature of modern football, but no, we're still the (only?) team that meekly accepts most crap refereeing decisions etc....
-
Indeed. Would love to hear the audio recording of what was said. Incompetent buffoons.
-
Yep, completely changed the course of the game. As I said on the post-match thread, I actually feel a bit sorry for Russ today as we'd have probably come away with something from the game if the referee and VAR hadn't been so inept. (And, no, I'm not excusing another lacklustre performance. Just stating the obvious)
