This article from May 2017 (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/05/17/southampton-chairman-stresses-saints-stability-admits-claude/) talks about Reed and Semmens (along with Krueger) forming the "club board". And indeed, Companies House shows Semmens and Reed joining 'Southampton Football Club Limited" board soon after (here: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00053301/filing-history), however this recent announcment is for the holding company, i.e. "St Mary's Football Group Limited".
So, I think this is different to the announcement of their appointments last year (to the football club board) but not sure if there's any significance in them also being appointed to the parent company board 6 months or so later. Probably not, but thought it might be worth a mention.
I wonder if those that criticised people for being sceptical about choccyboxkid's ITK credentials at the time will also be keeping a low profile....? Until the next time of course....
Isn't the captain allowed to 'confront' the referee without getting booked? Bertrand was the captain at the time and he wasn't a million miles away from the incident. IIRC he just stood there with his head in his hands after their second went in? Again, I'm not saying that haranguing the ref would have achieved anything but for the captain not to seemingly vent any anger just seems to epitomise the resigned attitude of the team as a whole in recent times. Hey ho.... It's only a game...
To be ever so slightly fair.... we didn't sit back after the first goal today.... so that's progress of sorts.... just need to score 3 or 4 goals before sitting back now and we'll be OK....
That's a fair point. I've not seen footage of the immediate aftermath of the goal but if McCarthy and the rest of the team weren't surrounding the ref and/or linesman then you've got to wonder what was going through their minds. Ok, so they probably wouldn't have got the decision over-turned but you certainly don't shrug your shoulders and make life easy for the ref in that situation.
