FFS. Was banking on them being promoted this season so we could start to witness the early clamour for new owners in order for them to become a 'competitive' upper League 1/Championship team.
This perpetual failure in Division 4 (four) simply isn't funny anymore....
No, because this is obviously a tactic by Saints to get the player's club to accept our 'final' bid....
Senior SFC bod: Hey, Guan
Guan: Yes boss?
SFC: have turned down our final offer for
Guan: That's a bugger. Anything you'd like me to do?
SFC: Sure. If you could post on the SaintsWeb Forum that we've made our final offer. That way, the news will filter through to that we're not going to raise our bid and that the deal is dead, at which point they'll come crawling back to us to accept our current offer.
Guan: Ah, nice one boss. Leave it with me...
[yes, you're right. Utter nonsense from trousers yet again]
We keep some of our 'best' players (e.g. VvD, Forster, Tadic, Long, Davis, Bertrand), we lose some of our 'best' players (e.g. Mane, Pelle, Wanyama), we buy new potential 'best' players (e.g. Hojbjerg, Redmond, a.n.other tbc). Long may it continue.
The reason we (seemingly) experience this more than other clubs is because we are better at them at taking raw or lapsed talent and turning them into top class players.
That's something to be proud and happy about rather than frustrated or disappointed.
The day I'll start to get frustrated is when the player turnover stops...
I take it you don't come here often then...? Things are pretty much going to the standard Saintsweb Forum summer script thus far...
Keep an eye out for the plethora of "glad I was proven wrong" or "told you so" posts around November time. (Act 4 Scene 2)
Posted in the pre-match thread that I was surprised Hojbjerg didn't start as he was one of our best players pre-season. Felt he made the difference in the second half. Still more optimistic than pessimistic about the season. COYR!
