  1. Another too early whistle from Clattenburg
  2. Utd close!
  3. Fair point sir.
  4. How has Fellani missed that?!
  5. On reflection, I guess in the split second he had to make a decision both players were on the floor so he probably didn't see there was an advantage to be played. Benefit of the doubt and all that
  6. Why on Earth didn't Clattenburg play advantage there?
  7. Cue a Rooney wonder goal in next 5 mins...
  8. I thought Utd were so bad these days that *they* are the underdogs...?
  9. At the end of the day (Brian), unless a team wins 100% of their games, every team is ultimately reliant on the results of other teams in the league to determine their final league position. If West Ham and Liverpool had the same results as us in the last 4 games then we'd have finished 8th. And we wouldn't have got 8th if it wasn't for Stoke's results in the last 10 games, etc, etc. I'm more than happy to rely on the results of other teams to determine our fate because "that's normal" (as Mr Koeman would put it). Come on Utd!!!!
  10. Anyone know how many premier league managers have started a season with just one year left on their contract? (Not asking this question to make a point, just genuinely curious as to how common or rare it is) Cheers
  11. If only we had a regular Saintsweb user based in Glasgow...
  12. It's tongue-in-cheek. Its a bit like the mild amusement one gets from keeping the Pompey Takeover Saga thread alive, in the knowledge that Pompey fans don't quite get the fact that maintaining the obsession is what keeps (some of) us amused. Yes, its all a bit sad when placed under the microscope of intellectual scrutiny but, hey, its the internet...not to be taken too seriously IMO. Anyway, back later... Just off to wind up my Italian mate about the fall of the Roman Empire...
  13. I'm inclined to disagree. IMO, it's much more entertaining when the people one's laughing at get so near yet so far. By comparison, imagine how dull it would have been if Pompey had succumbed to mid-table obscurity a few months ago. Nah, give me the "It's the hope that kills them" scenario every time.
  14. He's probably going by this sentence on the OS: "Season Tickets are currently off sale after the renewal deadline passed on Monday, but they will be available to Official Members again from Monday 23rd May, before general sale starts on Wednesday 25th May." http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20160520-season-ticket-update-southampton-2016-17-3119757.aspx I quick glance at that could be understandably lead someone to believe that the first time season tickets go on 'general sale' is next week.
  15. Tom Mockeridge, CEO Virgin Media... Michael Fries, CEO Liberty Global... Anyone got any recent photos of the Director's Box at St. Marys for earlobe comparisons?
  16. Isn't that the opposite of what he said at last week's press conference? i.e. he said contract talks would take place 'next week' between end of season and going on holiday. One of the journos quizzed him about it saying that wasn't a very long time to get things sorted, to which Koeman replied 'no, it can happen quickly' (or words to that effect.)
  17. Would prefer some kind of deal with Tannoy first...
  18. You been reading the Daily 'Fail' (chortle) again? Tut tut
  19. You've only just worked that out? I sussed it out years ago that most 'debates' in Webland are ultimately futile. P.s. I'm still undecided
  20. May one ask by whom? Cheers
  21. Ballpark? Cheers
  22. Does a certain MP not have someone on the inside at HMRC these days then...?
  23. I started taking my son when he was c.4 - 5 years old. It's the best age to indoctrinate....sorry, encourage.... them into becoming lifelong Saints fans before their glory-hunting peers persuade them otherwise
