In all seriousness, his free-kicks can win games or salvage points. The lame free-kicks we had in good positions vs Newcastle being a case in point. Some might say it's a bit of a luxury having a free-kick specialist in your side when he's "pretty average" at everything else... But given our usual 'goal-chances' vs 'goals-scored' ratio, I would say he offers a side like us much more than a team with clinical finishers...

Can't see us winning the prestigious 'Unbeaten Run Trophy' for the second season in succession to be honest...

Indeed. What I can't work out is whether managers that keep saying 'player X' is "close", when they're not, genuinely believe that fans won't see through the subterfuge, or are just so thick skinned that they don't care how daft it makes them look....

Fair point of view, but I still think we'll be better off keeping him.

Keeping KWP significantly increases our chances of staying up, which will be worth much more to us than banking c.£15m - £20m for him now (or whatever his current value is). Unless he's threatening to down-tools or such like (which he doesn't seem the type of character to do) then, to me, its a non-brainer that we keep him for another season.
