  1. Incorrect. Check the OED. (ok, I lied about the last post bit! )
  2. That was my first thought. If we could have picked a worst fixture for our first Thursday/Sunday combo, this would have been it. Oh well, will be a good early test of our squad depth
  3. Incorrect. Last post from me on this for this year (honest!)
  4. Away to West Ham on Boxing Day. Great.
  5. I'm guessing there must be some small print that allows them to do this. I don't recall seeing a "by the way, we may start charging you for this service without subsequent consent" clause when I first signed up under my pre-existing BT broadband contract but it must've been stated somewhere otherwise they'd be breaking consumer law. *trots off to read small print*
  6. Yep, a good choice IMO. Ticks the "divides opinions" box nicely
  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2015/chris-evans-to-lead-new-top-gear-line-up
  8. CB Fry to the main board please....
  9. No real insight from what I heard. Just said that Malaga were planning on building their team around him this season and that he was laughed at in Spain 2 weeks ago when he said he would be leaving for the premier league.
  10. Indeed, I thought the same. Just paraphrasing what the talk sport chap was saying. Maybe I misheard and he was talking more about the fact that saints being so close to a deal would alert other clubs to step in. All pretty obvious stuff I agree
  11. Talksport's Spanish league expert now saying that there's a good chance some of the Premier League 'big boys' will now be alerted to his relatively low contract release fee (£5.1m) and could usurp the Saints deal....
  12. Yes, but it is possible to wear over-garments without under-garments
  13. This is one of the main reasons why I don't wear underpants whilst posting on football forums
  14. "strictly, the first weekday" That's definitive enough for me. Why would anyone want to use the non-strict definition of anything?
  15. Yep, just me and the Oxford English Dictionary. P.s. Lady Trousers has her birthday on the 26th and it only took me c.10 years of marriage to convince her that her birthday wasn't always on Boxing Day
  16. Yes, I believe the T&Cs state that its a '1 member, 1 ticket' scheme
  17. Incorrect. Boxing Day isn't a fixed date, its an event that occurs on the first weekday after Christmas Day. St Stephen's day, however, always occurs on the 26th December.
  18. Incorrect...
  19. That's slightly interesting, in that I was sad enough to dig out the 2009 'Boxing Day Furore' thread and back then the government had the Saturday down as Boxing Day. There again, that was under a Labour government so no surprise that they got that wrong too, amongst many other things...
