@bigadamsport: To answer question on whether Lallana will still go to #lfc or not is not easy - situation is complicated & will take a few tweets so >>> @bigadamsport: >> #saintsfc believe they have more clout to block Lallana move for now because other clubs interested BUT >>> @bigadamsport: >> yesterday relationship between Adam Lallana & club worsened after a number of his calls to #saintsfc board members were ignored >>> @bigadamsport: >>> he wants chance to play Champs League football like anyone would & is ambitious, which he's stated previously & he feels #saintsfc >> @bigadamsport: >>> could/should be more sympathetic toward his stated aim to go to #lfc after years of loyal service to #saintsfc & believes he's >>> @bigadamsport: >>> not been dealt with correctly by those above him, given his loyalty over the years to #saintsfc - so if any move does not happen & >> @bigadamsport: >> Lallana stays at #saintsfc then there will be some serious bridge-building needed between player & Reed/Krueger. Now I'm not saying who > @bigadamsport: >> is right or wrong - I see where both camps are coming from , but I do believe if I was club captain I'd expect to have my calls answered> @bigadamsport: >> and that maybe board could have managed this situation better . Having did that, they want best deal for club & don't want to be seen >> @bigadamsport: >> to be a soft target for other clubs & want money that they see makes any sale worthwhile - but at the moment there is a problem which >> @bigadamsport: >> will only be sorted out with better communication all-round . Hope that fills you in as to really what has gone on last 2 days, goodnight

Yes, that was my interpretation at the time. As you say, it wouldn't surprise me if the "financial difficulty" was more to do with 'commercial income vs expenditure' ratios than the sustainability of the expenditure per se. Cortese voted against the FFP rules...can only be one reason why...he realised the **** was about to hit the fan given his apparent disregard for the commercial income side of things... IMHO of course

@Lloyd_Isgrove Kinda feel for the #saintsfc fans, so much speculation but I assure you it will all work out it always does! #faith

@alex_crook: Former #thfc manager Christian Gross is emerging as the latest overseas candidate for the #saintsfc job @alex_crook: Gross almost took charge of #saintsfc before Pochettino was hired but a last minute change of heart rescued Adkins from being fired earlier

That's a bit like Chesney Hawkes laughing at Robbie Williams because his last single didn't make the top 10

We've become such a laughing stock I'm too embarrassed to leave the house in daylight hours

Was looking at Koeman's managerial track record on Wikipedia last night. Doesn't seem to have set the world alight in his managerial career and doesn't seem to stay anywhere longer than a couple of seasons (which seems to be all the rage these days anyway....). Doesn't mean he couldn't do a decent job for us though of course.

Can someone wake me up on August 16th? Cheers

Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport Worth #saintsfc fans noting a couple of things - the Lambert deal has happened very quickly, since yesterday, with Liverpool saying if it wasn't done before squad fly off to Miami, they would move on. So, with Rickie wanting to go, could Saints deny hima dream move back to Liverpool after his services to the club - and Saints get a better financial deal to push it though. Even though Lambert is only #saintsfc player to go so far, it looks like the start of the end of an era, but any new manager would be happy to have the chance to shape his own squad, with a good kitty to spend, which I'm led to believe he'll have

Yep, it is a bit of a mystery at the end of the day. Just me thinking out loud (not always a good thing!)
-
Yep, that's a possibility too. Although a 32 year old's value isn't going to fluctuate too much regardless of how their world cup goes. I guess there are pros and cons of either approach.
-
"Rushing it through" might be best for SFC.... if Rickie wants to go and Liverpool want him, best for SFC to get it tied up now in case he gets injured during the world cup.
-
Why are people 'obsessed' with the amount of the transfer fee? £4m (or £9m for that matter) pales into insignificance when you look at how much wealth Rickie's goalscoring and assists have brought to the club...and all for a £1m outlay. The fact that the club are happy to let him go for what seems like a relatively low fee could actually be seen as a sign of the club's financial strength, i.e. we don't need to make any money out of selling Rickie - he's already made tens of millions for the club - so the club could simply be acting in a benevolent way here to ensure one of the clubs greatest servants in recent history gets the end-of-career move that, to me, its obvious that Ricky wants. What better way for the club to thank Rickie for everything he's done for the club than to help him fulfil his final dream? Yes, of course there is the 'issue' of who we replace him with but I'm prepared to wait for how that pans out rather than prejudge what might or might not happen.

I'm beginning to think that 'Glasgow Saint' might actually make up c.90% of this forum with his different personas. Mr X is another.

@bigadamsport: #saintsfc Lambert hoping to have deal done in time for a medical on Saturday - Saints won't stand in his way if deal right - club say they're under no financial pressure to sell players - have already turned down offers for Lallana & Shaw
-
Psssssst..... Update his status to full member so he can post more snippets. I won't tell anyone if you don't
-
"Definite" as in we've definitely turned down the bid....?
-
The screenshot (fake or otherwise) is from facebook not twitter

So, to summarise the last hour of frenzy....Liverpool bid for one of our players and we reject the bid. Ergo, the club is doing exactly what Krueger said it would do. #meltdown
