  1. To my eyes, Clyne is just as good as Shaw, perhaps a smidgen better given he offers a bit more threat in front of goal than Shaw does when playing in an advanced position. I guess Shaw grabs the media (and Hodgson's) attention over and above Clyne more because of his age more than anything else (not forgetting that Clyne hasn't started as many games this season of course, which is obviously a significant factor)
  2. Jack Cork's post match comment on the transfer speculation: "All the lads speak to each other a lot and we all know that everyone wants to stay here and play here and it would be a shame to ruin what we've got going"

  4. Bury 4 Pompey 4 Get the open top bus cranked up....
  5. As someone who I believe has connections with the Lallana family (?) that post makes me very happy
  6. This. I'm convinced we'd have been challenging for top 6 if Wanyama hadn't got injured in November/December.

    Jack Cork

Agree, although the BBC post match interviewer chap highlighted Jack's performance in his interview with MP.

    Jack Cork

This. He won't make the world cup squad but surely must be in pole position to get a berth in the Euro qualifiers squad.
  9. You've just broken the cardinal rule of the Saintsweb Forum.... looking back at where we were 'x' years ago....
  10. The first one? My interpretation is that Lovren's challenge didn't change Osman's trajectory - he would have ended up on the deck whether Lovren touched him or not as he was going to ground just before the contact. Plus the ball was heading out of play anyway

  12. If we're ever going to reach the "next level" then we're going to have to get used to having great players on the bench. That's where we're weaker than the top 7 at the moment - the depth of our squad. Our best 11 can compete with any of the top 7.
  13. I would venture that a significant portion of the c.1.5% "dip" in attendance is largely down to the apparent lack of focus on the corporate seating side of things, something that the current regime have pledged to put right. Wouldn't therefore surprise me to see that relatively small dip wiped out next season.
  14. All sounds very positive to me. I wonder which sentence the media will choose to highlight though....
  15. Bury 2 Pompey 0
  16. You wouldn't have got a cheeky wink from them though. Glasgow was at the game today anyway so won't be on here for a while....
  17. Or....he's on his way so stayed out longer to show his appreciation for the support he's had from the fans....
  18. Isgrove scores for Peterborough
  19. No coincidence that
  20. I way I interpreted Adam's "we'll look at things in the summer" was simply him reflecting what Les Reed said yesterday. Whilst the question was directed at him personally I felt he was simply echoing the club line and was speaking about things in general, not just his own situation. In other words "we're concentrating on finishing the season well and everything else will be dealt with in the summer"
  21. The translator was struggling not to laugh as he knew that MP was answering the questions about transfers with a completely different answer
  22. Liking MP's post match interview with Ray Stubbs
  23. Any chance of talking about Saints BT Sport?
