  1. But do they actually need the Football League's agreement for it to go through? Or as its the Premier League's money can they do as they wish and the FL are just expressing their concerns and can have no impact on proceedings?
  2. Why next year? Their 125 anniversary was in 2006! Have you forgotten this?
  3. Because the general public as a collective doesn't have taste.
  4. He is 31, so running out of time if he does.
  5. £1m for a 31 year old is never going to happen. Would be a very good signing if much cheaper.
  6. Are you on a wind up? You do realise right footed Lallana and left footed Puncheon swap wings constantly throughout games and he has nearly 20 goals this season?
  7. 1) They aren't clones of each other so can't compare. Lallana is better imo and would cost more. 2) It is an initial £1.7m with more on future appearances. 3) Charlton have huge money problems and need the money to avoid administration in the summer. Therefore more likely to accept lower offers and not going to be picky. This sums it up well... http://www.cafc.co.uk/newsview.ink?nid=36031 4) Saints have a rich owner and can afford to turn down pretty much any offer. 5) Where does Fabian Delph fit into your argument?
  8. Bundles of lavender for Dan Harding. Watch from 13:20 to see why... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00s7r1q
  9. So are you now saying Antonio did have a say in this?
  10. Not really a £2 booking fee if that £2 doesn't go towards costs in taking the order but instead a charity the club fee guilty about ripping off. Just making the fans give the charity money doesn't cover up the wrong that was done by the club itself.
  11. At the beginning of the season Jaidi was 3 years younger than Carsley is now. Jaidi also signed for a club on -10 points in League One. Saints next season are looking to win League One and build the team ready to get promotion from the Championship. Carsley would just be an expensive (in terms of wages) stop gap with no sell on value. They therefore could do a lot better.
  12. Nothing I have said has been showed to be wrong. Antonio would have had to agree to the extension, he could have turned it down. He has probably benefitted from the extension and will further benefit from a transfer to Saints (along with his agent).
  13. He'll start ripping his hair out next.
  14. http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/forum.php This is a site dedicated to the game. If you goto the "Data update discussion forum" you can update CM 01/02 to have current 2010 data. So Lallana and Lambert etc at Saints. Remember it isn't an official update and is unrelated to SI.
  15. People here setting their sights too low. Pardew has stated he wants to put together a team this summer that will move up with him through the leagues. Signing a 36 year old Lee Carsley (that hasn't played League football for 5 months) doesn't fit into that.
  16. It wasn't anywhere near £1m upfront. Most was in future payments dependent on appearances.
  17. Give a vague description then.
  18. This suggests Reading need the cash. http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/readingfc/s/2070129_reading_fc_must_save_4million
  19. Because it isn't a transfer of the player's registration from one team to another. He is out of contract and thus becomes unattached and not a Reading player. Any payment to Reading is a development compensation fee.
  20. Yes. Although I don't they will receive much as he hasn't been at Reading for long and a large part of that time he was at Saints. So Saints have probably had far more impact on his career so far so any development fee will be small.
  21. It isn't a transfer fee.
  22. That doesn't make any sense. He is out of contract in the summer. If he doesn't like Readings offer he can turn it down and accept Saints' offer. Nothing Reading can do about it.
  23. By no means does that mean he won't be a Saints player next season. It is likely to be just Reading's way of getting compensation.
  24. He hasn't played for West Brom for 3 years.
  25. Saints are averaging 3,000 more fans than Pompey and are two Leagues lower yet they are playing Wycombe, Yeovil and Stockport compared to Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal. What makes you think it is not sustainable to be spending as they are?
