A military coup perhaps might do it! 2) How about because they aren't one and the same? Sports people aren't the government! They have spent their lives training for sports events, the actions of Putin shouldn't ruin it for them. A ban is deserved if they openly support the war, but otherwise you are punishing the innocent for the actions of the guilty. In what other walk of life is that acceptable?
