  1. I'd rather we didn't start with our 4th and 5th best centre backs when the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best are all fit and available!
  2. Can you give names of players for both categories please.
  3. It wasn't really a case of them letting him go. Chelsea wanted to keep him and he wanted to leave.
  4. Chance to do what?
  5. Saints have been linked before. Perhaps an alternative to Broja...
  6. How much do you think he'd cost, considering he was sold by relegated Sunderland for £30m before he was first choice for England?
  7. Pickford cost Everton circa £30m from relegated Sunderland. Unlike then, he is now first choice for England so his value will be higher. There is better value abroad as @Sheaf Saintsaid.
  8. He had a Stuart Armstrong quiff when at Saints...
  9. I don't know about the sale, but this weekend...
  10. Currently it is only on a deal until the summer, he could pick a different team then. Premier League rules meant he couldn't join Saints for this season.
  11. Afterwards... 😉 He was at Saints... from 2001 to 2006 He was at Stoke... from 2007 to 2013
  12. The thinking is... Long throw in = set piece Something he was very effective at.
  13. Dragan Solak is in an ongoing feud with Serbian government. They very much disagree on a lot of things.
  14. I'd guess a loan to the Championship might be the only way we could get Theo out of the squad next season. With Saints still paying a large % of his wages until his contract expires next summer.
  15. He has been injured. It isn’t his ability that is the reason for only one goal this season.
  16. Southampton, Brighton, Bournemouth and even Plymouth have already risen above Pompey thanks
  17. Bale scored 11 goals in 20 Premier League games as recently as last season, which is clearly a decent return. I don't recall Shane Long managing that last season.
  18. His link to Cardiff has nothing to do with his current ability. It is due to his Welsh heritage.
  19. He has always been significantly better than Walcott and would be an upgrade on our starting XI.
  20. As opposed to the Champions of Europe winning vs Brentford and being full of confidence when we play them? You can turn it into a negative either way. I think what is more key is the fixture sandwich in the opening post of this thread. Chelsea have very little in the way of recovery and preparation time with two games vs Real Madrid either side of playing Saints.
