  1. I agree, the resemblance is uncanny! Fratton... A Brazilian favela...
  2. You are confusing terms. We are currently in an ice age and have been for the last 2.6 million years. It is currently an interglacial period of an ice age, rather than a glacial period of an ice age.
  3. The IFAB uses both laws and rules. https://www.theifab.com/
  4. It'll be a very different world and UK after sea level rises...
  5. UK government buildings tend to have carpet rather than a soil floor
  6. 1) Why would you never have one again? 2) So in 2040 you'd rather have a 10+ year old petrol/diesel car than an electric car? 3) I have never have had an electric car. But when the national infrastructure improves and prices come down I will.
  7. 1) Bedtime reading for you... https://www.ipcc.ch/sr15/chapter/spm/ 2) You failed to address my rebuttal about electric cars and heat pumps.
  8. I didn't. It'll slow it down, not stop it completely. Climate change occurs with or without humans, but the last 200 years has seen our species significantly increase the rate of it.
  9. Global sea level rise that wipes out huge areas of the world and an increase in the frequency of extreme weather events will cost significantly more than the 35 trillion used to try and prevent it. (Don't bring Jesus into this 😉)
  10. 1) What assertion without science do you think I've made? 2) You failed to address my rebuttal about electric cars and heat pumps.
  11. Why do you think turning off one source of CO2 emissions wouldn't help? If you run a bath with the taps and also have a hosepipe filling it up the the bath fills up quickly, turn the hose off and it fills up less quickly.
  12. 1) The global cost of a significant rise in temperatures is predicted to be significantly higher. A higher frequency of extreme weather events, droughts etc will cause poverty. 2) You failed to address my rebuttal about electric cars and heat pumps.
  13. Do you not agree less CO2 being released than currently is being released would be helpful?
  14. The government is not forcing the poor to buy electric cars in 2021. What the are doing is making all new cars sold after 2030 to be electric. That does not mean there won't be petrol or diesel cars in 2030 or even 2040 or 2045. Eventually poor people will buy second hand electric cars. Plus in any case electric cars will reduce in price year on year as they already are doing. Nor is the government going to force people to buy a heat pump. So where is the poverty you talk about?
  15. There is an element of a snowball effect. For example the melting of permafrost then releases huge quantities of methane. Now for my question...?
  16. How does a zero carbon objective lead to poverty?
  17. I think 'brilliant' is pushing it somewhat. He has been pretty good, but none of his performances have really stood out (yet). I'd like to see Perraud back in the team at left back, Walker-Peters at right back and Livramento and Stuart Armstrong as the number 10s.
  18. 1) That is the formation we played in the 2nd half today when Diallo came on and vs West Ham. Man Utd and Man City hardly played straight through our team so it isn't as bad as you make out. 2) Romeu is the vice captain.
  19. A comparison to corners is utterly bizarre. You cannot be offside from a corner as the ball goes backwards from where the corner is taken.
  20. 1) Are you not going to explain why you think it is 'bizarre'? 2) Azpilicueta was offside and him being offside meant that McCarthy could not see the ball for a period of time, nor was McCarthy able to get closer to the ball because Azpilicueta was in the way whilst offside. McCarthy was only able to see the ball when it was too late and he didn't have enough time to react due to an offside player meaning he couldn't track the path of the ball. So hardly 'bizarre'! 🙄
  21. The assist for goals from corners comes from the ball being kicked from the by-line and going backwards onto the pitch, so if it is a corner and then a one touch goal it can't be obstructing a keeper's line of sight whilst offside.
  22. Yes he was, because Azpilicueta being stood there meant McCarthy couldn't see or get to the ball until it was too late. The ball was obstructed from McCarthy's view until that point in the photo you have used. McCarthy was therefore unable to track the ball for the entire time due to an offside player obstructing his view.
  23. @Teddeer The rules... https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside
  24. Only those who are unware of the rules of the sport! They make it pretty clear you can't obstruct the keeper's view whilst standing in an offside position, which is what clearly happened.
  25. He has been back in training for longer than Armstrong.
