  1. If it ends up being an obligation to buy, then that is effectively the same as a transfer. Saints can spend the money as it is guaranteed future income. We don't know what will or won't be agreed in the deal yet.
  2. Nothing has currently been agreed. Plus we don't even know the terms of what has been offered!
  3. Newcastle have been looking to sign a new 1st choice keeper. That is why they wanted Trafford, Ramsdale is next on their shortlist. Ramsdale would be moving to be first choice instead of Pope.
  4. Because those of them that are raging are being lazy and judging him on team performance and not his performance. Ramsdale was not in any way to blame for our relegation. He is a PL level keeper in a Championship-level squad at the moment. He'd be a very good signing for them.
  5. Even if they don't use this as a chance to sign a new first choice and they use Bazunu, they would still need another keeper to replace Lumley. It won't be a 17-year-old like Dylan Moody. He'll be with the academy teams this season as he needs game time.
  6. I doubt we'd be getting a £6.5m+ loan fee on top of his wages being paid. Unless it was an obligation to buy.
  7. It wasn't an ACL injury it was his Achilles tendon, just like he is our Achilles heel!
  8. Weakens a promotion rival
  9. Look at journalists on social media with a reliable track record then.
  10. While "whom" is grammatically correct after a preposition like "by," using "who" is widely accepted in everyday English because aligns with how people actually speak. "Rumour by who?" sounds conversational and natural. "Rumour by whom?" sounds formal or old-fashioned. This is a football forum, so the former is the setting.

  13. We had a lack of creativity in the 2024/25 Premier League... because most of the players were not good enough at that level. In 2023/24 in the Championship we did not lack creativity... we scored 87 goals! We are playing at that level again and still have lots of those players. Plus some other new players who will excel at that level.
  14. When you say midfielder, what role are you talking about? Because if Fernandes ends up staying, then in a 4231 we are sorted for starting central players with Downes and Charles in the two, and Fernandes in front. Even if Fernandes leaves and if Dibling stays, he would be a creative option in the 10 role. Plus none of use really know if Matsuki is a viable option this season or not.
  15. Fernandes absolutely can and does do that. So can the others (bar Smallbone) to a lesser extent. We also have Dibling who could do so from the number 10 role.
  16. Mark Bitcon, not Paul Trollope 😉
