  1. Tenuous transfer rumour alert (the Twitter account is followed by Simon Peach of the Press Association which gives it a bit of credibility) Obligatory YouTube 'best bits' video
  2. It isn't a low fee for a player who has only 1 year left of his contract given his lack of Premier League experience.
  3. Then why be surprised if he doesn't replace a player he isn't competing for the same role with?
  4. He played in 23 out of 30 league games last season and this season he is apparently wanting to move so that may impact Lennon picking him.
  5. They don't play in the same position/role.
  6. It would be odd for a Celtic player not to think he is too good when compared to the rest of the league. So is it really a problem?
  7. It'll require Fulham staying up and that'll be the issue as I think they'll struggle.
  8. He has played 20 or more league games for the past 3 seasons.
  9. So does McCarthy.
  10. Sell on clauses are pretty standard in the transfers of young players, so I'd guess so.
  11. Saints have completed the deal. So that suggests there was no work permit issue, or they wouldn't have completed the deal.
  12. €8m from Fulham and say €2m from the loan last season = €10m for a player we don't want and managed to get 46 games out of. Sure it is a loss on what Saints paid for him, but it isn't pocket change.
  13. How? If he didn't get a work permit Saints wouldn't have to complete the deal.
  14. There is a difference between the actions of a Swansea hotel and the actions of the football club. They aren't one and the same.
  15. If he wasn't able to get a work permit they could decide not to go ahead with the deal.
  16. Swansea City have completely ignored the 7-1 defeat. No mention of it on the club website, Twitter or Facebook! 😃
  17. A game vs Coventry City at St Mary's on Tuesday... https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/southampton-vs-coventry-city-friendly-18851966
  18. Regardless of those being in front of him, it wasn't solely down to them that in Forster's first season Saints had the 2nd best defensive record in the league (only champions Chelsea did better conceding one less). You don't only concede 33 goals in a Premier League season with a shit keeper, so Forster was clearly doing something right back then.
  19. He is Ghanaian, a former British colony where English is widely spoken and is the official language of the country. He is fluent in English...
  20. @OttawaSaint I wasn't correcting you. I pointed you in the direction of the announcement on the Saints website if you wanted to see all the new numbers and gave a link to the squad number thread if you wanted to talk about the squad numbers.
  21. Because those are their squad numbers as announced on Tuesday... https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2020-08-25/southampton-football-club-mens-first-team-squad-numbers-202021 https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/58250-squad-numbers-202021/
