It helps Saints remain within 2 points of catching Burnley.

1) That is how science works! Theories based on the best available evidence. How could that possible be a problem! Religion on the other hand makes proclamations based on no evidence. Which is more reliable... basing things on the best evidence... or on no evidence? 2) Why have you come from a starting point that it needs a 'who'? That isn't a sound methodology as you are presuming it is a who before looking at the evidence. The question to ask is 'how'... not 'who'! And the answer to that is... we don't know. Nothing wrong with admitting you don't know... religion however claims an answer despite no good evidence. 3) Yes, I know why, it is because... a) you have been indoctrinated and brainwashed b) you have a limited to non existent understanding of the scientific method 4) This is either the 3rd or 4th time I've tried explaining this one two you. I don't know how I can make it any simpler to understand! - If God is 'all knowing' then he knows everything you will do in the future... do you agree with that? - We presume for the sake of argument God set the conditions for the universe and made you Those two things conflict logically to prevent free will. As if God created everything and knows how it will turn out then the manner in which he decided your creation has been been predetermined and free will is logically impossible under those conditions. If you can't grasp that then I really don't know how else you will ever grasp it!

We can't choose if God created us and knows every decision we will make before we have made it. If he created us he set the conditions for what will happen and he knows what will happen so free will is logically impossible under those circumstances. As for "what happened for us to be here"... Big bang 14 billion years ago, earth former 4 billion years ago, love started 600m years ago, humans evolved a couple of million years ago. That is the best understanding of the available evidence. Do you disagree with any of that? If so... Why?
-
An all knowing creator giving free will is an oxymoron. If the creator knows the future and creates people then the way he created them already has a pre-known path. So free will is not possible. We've been through this before and you failed to give a rebuttal.

Nice attempt as a wind-up. Why is that remotely relevant? I can't alter the calendar the society I live in uses.
-
Yet again... you didn't answer the question (I didn't think you would, but it would have been nice)
-
No I don't. Some people in the country are Christian, that doesn't make it a Christian country

The Bible doesn't have a forward saying 'do not take literally'. What emotion do you think you can show on an internet forum? What example do you have of me not understanding someone's emotion on this forum? It is a forum... not a conversation on the phone or face to face.
-
And living by faith is daft! Because... 1) Is there any position you can take that can't be based on faith? 2) If no then faith is not a reliable path to the truth... so what is the point?
-
No, it is the calendar of the country I live in. It would be daft in home life and work life if I didn't recognise it is 2020 tomorrow.
-
And your evidence for that is? Sure you'll say my posts on this forum, but what about them?
-
Believing in something without good supporting evidence is by definition illogical. There is nothing I say I believe in that I don't have good supporting evidence.
-
Why have you dismissed the possibility that it doesn't mention America because the prophecy is by a man in the middle east who had no knowledge of America?
-
Do you have a PhD in avoiding tricky questions that undermine your position?
-
What do you think open minded means? Because as I've stated a number of times, I will believe what ever the shows to be the case. If you provided me with some good evidence your God exists... I'd believe he exists. Do you have some?
-
Pedantic sure! But I am educated to Masters level, so to call me not very bright is nonsense. 'Human emotions' are to this topic and 'little understanding of intelligence' is meaningless nonsense. You didn't answer 1 and 4 and I was asking you for the answers to all 4 of them. Give it a go!

1) What 'mental level of proof' have I asked for? 2) If the evidence supports a God I would believe in its existence. I'm yet to see any convincing evidence. Do you have some? 3) 'Living according to Bible prinicples' ... like owning slaves? committing genocide? Being sexist and homophobic? 4) What issues could a person have that can only be overcome by turning to the Bible and not by secular means?

I think if Raging Bull was alive in 1654AD or 1836AD etc etc he'd be trying to shoe horn the same vague prophecies to events in the 17th and 19th century rather than the 21st century. The prophecies in the Bible are vague enough that people throughout the last 2000+ years have been trying convince themselves that it matches with the current time period.
